We can trade them Mangold and Brick. Richardson and Tebow are so beast-mode they don't need blockers.
stay put at 16! fill holes with depth (something this organization has yet to do) and they will be starters. We could grab a starting lineman (Guard in Glenn or Decastro) in round one, an OLB in round 2, and a WR/S in round 3. Bray Bray is still out there as is a back. Next year we will be able to cut Pace (or restructure ) and Bart will be gone giving us some room to address other areas via FA. DEPTH DEPTH DEPTH, stop this risky trading up shit. Who have we traded up for besides Harris that has been worth a shit in the past 10 years? Mangold was the 29th pick, Revis was a mid 1st pick. Stay put and draft BPA
It is absurd to trade up for a RB when there are capable running backs that will fall late. Most of today's big name backs come from round 2, not round 1. I will hang my jersey up if the JETS blew this draft away trading up for Richardson.
The jets getting the best running back since Adrian Peterson? How's that a bad thing? Sure, it may not be the smartest move but I'm not gonna cry and stop being a Jets fan.
Agreed!! If he is like AP we are set!! even if he is like steven jackson or Ray Rice we are set!! Look at the ravens!!
Never trade up for a RB in the draft. Man, that's rule #1 carved into stone. RBs are a dime a dozen these days. In fact, I would never even pick a RB in the first round, no matter who he is. They take such a beating that they are rarely ever worth the cap money you invest into them. Besides, it's been proven over and over that quality backs can be had in the mid rounds. A middling RB with a great OL is more than enough to win games, while a great back with a middling OL usually isn't. QB, WR, blue chip OL, DT, and pass rushers are all 1st round type of guys. With the rare exception, other positions aren't.
Arian Foster, Maurice Jones Drew, Lesean McCoy, Ray Rice, Matt Forte. I believe all of the above are elite running backs, how many of them are 1st rounders? None. No I am not ok with them trading away a 1, 2, prob next years 1 as well as other picks for a RUNNING BACK. Dare I say, Doug Martin, Llamar Miller will become capable running backs in the NFL. If you want a RB so badly, look there.
RichCimini Trent Richardson is the No. 1 player on the Jets' draft board, ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reported today. #Jets Seriously, for the right price, this would be a HUGE get. I don't understand this "omg look at these guys they weren't first rounders" argument. You are hand picking a few people that were drafted in rounds 2-7 and pretending you can just pluck them out of any draft in any given year. Richardson is SURE FIRE and if we play our cards right, we could still land a very very good DE/LB in the second round!
I guess you guys are right.....I honestly just dont know anymore we do have alot of holes but they can be filled but richardson would be great!! just dont know how much of a beaten he has taken and what he has left/ would suck for an injury also
Who cares about Powell if we land Richardson? McKnight is a situational back. A tandem of Greene and Richardson would be great, especially with the option looming and the best option QB in the league.
Greene becomes back up. Mcknight stays as the third RB which he has been last 2 years. Powell continues to be terrible on someone else's roster.
I will admit having richardson, greene, and mcknight would be a sick RB rotation. But we need to improve the O-line for these guys to damage opposing defenses to their fullest potential.
With what second round pick are you going to draft a DE/LB? To get Richardson we will have to get into the top 10. To do that, we will be giving up A LOT. That means a future 1 as well as a ton of picks from this year. So you will still have a whole at LB, DE, S, RT. Typical JETS, short term glamor not addressing the long term issue. I am sorry but RB is not a priority and trading up for one is ridiculous.
Rumor has it Jets want to move up. I like it. Richardson will be an elite runningback, he's a beast, especially in the weightroom. Difference between him and most guys is he actually can apply his strength to football. Also, this is kinda off-topic, but I just hope we don't draft Dontari Poe. Yeah, he had a great combine and it's great to see the kid get some exposure, but the point is, his production wasn't there on the field. You can be an athletic beast, but still suck at football (you know who I'm talking about). Honestly, I think they just need to change the events for the combine. Keep the shuttle, scrap the 40 and replace it with 10 yard sprints for lineman and linebackers and 20 yard sprints for everybody else (every drill on the grass, in pads, in their position's stance), add the 5-star drill, scrap the bench press, add the squat and power clean, scrap the 60-yard shuttle, keep the broad and vert jumps, and add the incline bench press. That would leave you with: OL/DL/LB 10 yard sprints QB/HB/WR/TE/DB/P/K 20 yard sprints 5-star drill Squat Power Clean Incline Bench Press Broad Vert All drills that are actually applicable to football.
i would hope not. Greene is a bruiser and is good back up if richardson did get injured. He had his first 1000 yard season last season with an o-line that played pretty poorly.
