Last thing I expected was a prospect to choose to sign here over NYR, Toronto, Van, etc etc.

About time, this team's gonna be hell on wheels soon.

Sundin is not a first ballot HOFer, especially not over Shanahan. Fuckin ludicrous. And I don't think Lindros belongs in the HOF.

Way too much money for Pruster. Good for him though. It's always hard to see guys like him play for other teams. The common guy is always gonna pull for a lesser-skilled grinder. He was tough as nails for the Rangers. Definitely gonna miss him, especially on the PK.

I liked Prust but there was a dramatic drop off in his game the last two months and in the POs. He was GASSED

Just as an amusing aside for you, Ottawa just picked up Hugh Jessiman as some depth for the Baby Sens in Binghamton. You may remember Hugh Jessiman as the player that the Rangers picked 12th overall in the most stacked draft I can recall, picking him ahead of such failures and nobodies as Dustin Brown, Zach Parise, Ryan Getzlaf, Mike Richards and Brent Seabrook.

Jess might be the worst pick of all time in any sport considering what we could have had. Oh well.

Reading more and more about all these teams that are interested in Nash and Ryan. The asking price is WAYYYY to high IMO for the Rangers. I honestly hope we don't land either of them. I would much rather see a guy like Shane Doan who we could get for a much more resonable asking price. Another name thrown out there is Semin, but not sure if he's the right fit for Tort style hockey.

Im dying to have Shane Doan on the Rangers...We lack that veteran grit/leadership to keep inspiring this talented group of Rangers.

All these goon signings are pissing me off...

My guess is that Nash will go to Detroit, Ryan to the Rangers and Semin to the Devils.

eh, I knew all this shit was going to happen at some point, I just thought the #1 priority should have been handled 1st.

I read Doan is not realy making any decesions untill the 9th (because of news of coyotes ownership). He would be my ideal next Ranger.

I think the asking price for Ryan will be too high. I read Sather does not want to budge with certin key players that the clubs are asking for in the Nash and Ryan trades. It could all be BS though.

You might be right. The Rangers seem to have lots of prospects, but their senior roster appears quite slim and Ryan and Nash would both need them to give up a lot in return.

Agree that Doan would be a good fit for the Rangers, and that Semin wouldn't. I wouldn't mind seeing Semin in Ottawa.

Silfverberg. The suggestion is that we were prepared to give up Zbad along with Lehner (young talented goaltender) and Foligno for Nash, but Columbus wanted Mark Stone as well which was a dealbreaker for us. (That, and the fact that we could have been offering Karlsson, Spezza and Michalek for all the difference it would have made, as Nash doesn't want to come.)

Not sure why we'd have to trade Zbad or Silf though, I believe Semin's a UFA.

Oh thats right...forgot about that. He's been under the radar with everything. I can totally see Sather just offering him money
