With the relative unpopularity of the Titans throwbacks...many Jets fans over the past several years were clamoring for the 80's throwbacks...I think the most we got out of the Jets is a "we're considering it" has any decision been made? Will we wear the 80's throwbacks this season?
I think I read a while back when the Nike uni's were introduced that teams already had alternates decided on but it was their discretion as to when they release that info.
I like the Titans throwbacks, especially the white jerseys. That 80s green is hideous IMO and I hope it goes away for good..
I've grown to really like the Titans throwbacks. I'm all for the Jets wearing them once or twice a year. I grew up with the late '70's-80's unis. It just reminds me of futility. I'd prefer to never see them again.
Jets are supposed to be green, I hate when they do the Titans thing, plus there is a current Titans in the AFC now. I could take the 80s uniforms for a game or two, the 20 years of pain wearing them notwithstanding.
It wasn't that bad from 1978 - 1986. From 1987-1996 it was bad though, but we had some good years in those uni's.
Yes, most of the 80s were good, comparable to the 2000s. What sticks with me was the first year we went back to the classics we had the best year I've ever seen us have.
The 80s were pretty good but ended on a bad note. We got really bad on an annual basis when we tweaked them adding black in 1990- those are the ones I look at and see losing. The early 80s ones when we were really good were a darker green. The green lightened up over the years. I'd love the 80s uni's w/ the current darker green(or early 80s) and we will see 80s throwbacks at some point. See the images below: early 80s green to mid 90s green
I also like seeing the Pats throwbacks, which are kind of kitchy really, and the Pats sucked for an awful long time in them. I guess you get a little nostalgic when you get old. (Not sure why I want to relive the 41-7 weekly drubbings by Miami, Oakland, and pretty much everyone else)?
One small detail they missed in 1998 was the socks. The 60's and 70's classic era Jets pretty much always wore striped socks. 1998 was solid colored socks

I've been talking about them bringing back the kelly greens like the one above for years. The titans are a dull putrid color scheme and the 2nd or 3rd worse throwback in the league, only denvers and maybe green bays is worse.
I think the Chargers throwbacks with the powder blue jerseys and the numbers on the helmet rule. I actually like the Pats throwbacks. I loved the Bills as well, but since they switched to a similar uni color/style, I doubt they will wear those anymore.
I like the solid socks, I miss that look. They used it for the denver game last year and lost so I doubt we see the white on white w/ solid socks. I think those jerseys were wet but the jersey hadn't quite lightened up in that '91 season as it would around '94 or so.
