If somebody gives me a nice vehicle and nobody said I can't have it, I'm taking it. If they want answers, ask Pete Carroll or the SoCal AD, may as well leave the kids out of it.
I would have been shocked to learn that Mcknight didn't receive gifts from usc boosters. big time college football is pretty much totally corrupt and most people don't care about cars, jewelry, clothes, dinners, cribs and women. its been this way for a looong time. we pretty much accept that level of corruption. PSU took corruption and fraud to whole nuther level of course. now that we know that psu was covering up rape in order to protect jopa's "legacy" - people will care even less that a player is given a lexus and a cool pad - thats nothing compared to what ped state was getting away with.
True, you should have the option of Scholarship or pay. It really is just the minors for the NFL after all.
If that's the case, then colleges have a responsibility to provide college athletes with a real academic experience (which 99% of big time athletic programs do not.) When your academic departments are loaded with classes like ballroom dancing that are specifically designed for athletes to coast through without taking time away from sports -- and when your athletic department puts real pressure on players to make sports their only function on campus -- then the players certainly don't get their money's worth.
It was his girls car! Why don't they leave this guy alone.A plane ticket?Sometimes they give them out for free. The NCAA won't even buy them a plane ticket to see there mother after winning a title. So some guy his GF worked for gave him one.So what.
