Define win. Often I see Revis shut a guy down for all but 5 mins of the game until buddy gets a big catch or a TD on him and the opposition chalks it up as an L for Revis Christ.

The jets. But to your question what is a successful go at revis?
    1 td?
    100yards?

Revis will wear him down as the game goes on he will have his catches but no way he does any true damage unless safeties blow a coverage on a go / deep post

Revis had one of his worst games ever the last time the teams played, credit Stevie for playing well(though he did drop the GW TD). I wouldn't put money down that it will happen again.

Revis rarely has safety help even on deep routes. If he gives up a long catch, it's on him.

what if the bills use johnson in the slot?? wouldn't be surprised they move him around. gonna be hard for the jets to 100% match the bills and man up all the time - especially with the receiving skills of their RB's.

I could be wrong in my thinking but I don't think anybody is taking into account how much more pressure we will be putting on opposing QBs. We haven's seen a single thing from what I expect will be Rex's moist exotic blitzes ever. Bell, Landry, Maybin, Coples, etc. etc. etc. I think Rex has a reason to say this may be his best Jets team ever..especially with him calling the defense.

To answer the question, Revis will definitely win this matchup.

Unless they line Stevie up in the slot the whole game Revis will shut him down. Under 50 yards 0 touchdowns. The only chance he has at getting a TD and some yardage is when they keep forcing it into him on short passes over and over in the slot.

When Revis gets disrespected he plays his best and he has had a long time to prepare.

To clarify, a "win" means no touchdowns and under 100 yards.

I would be shocked if Johnson had any impact on the game at all. I'm going with something like 3 catches, 15 yards, 0 tds.

chances are he will have some impact, he's one of the Bills top playmakers. will he have a big day? I'd be shocked if he did but expect he will catch a few balls.

How about a win is defined as the Jets have more points than the Bills at the end of the day?

So 8 catches for 95 yards would be a win for Revis?

The way Stevie Johnson runs is completely unorthodox, so it's hard for Revis to keep him locked down. In the second matchup last season, he would stutter and juke in the middle of routes, I started calling him a 'scat receiver' for the way he would ad-lib his routes and still hit the target point with the right timing.

But... I think Revis may crush his soul on Sunday. Revis hates being exposed for any reason. I think it's as likely that Johnson gets 3/50, 1TD as it is that he gets 1/7, 0TD.

The way the game unfolds will be interesting, but the Jets will have a much better pass rush, much better run protection and better safeties than they had in either meeting last season. That takes a lot of pressure off of Revis.

Revis is a mortal. He makes mistakes every now and then on the football field just like every other player. Stevie Johnson got him pretty good the last time we played, that won't happen again. Johnson is a good receiver, but Revis is the best defensive player in football, he won't let Johnson beat him again.

When did SJ ever beat Revis? That 3 yard pass from the 5 yard line? If he's claiming that as beating Revis, that's pretty weak. If that's from the 6 yard line, he doesn't score, Revis had him down within a yard and he was playing 5 yards off.
Revis doesn't like when players talk shit about him, I think he'll play Johnson very tight this match up.
