I like Bill Parcells style better... "Hey dumb ass, what the hell was that? You keep that shit up and I'll be chanting Tebow" lol

Sanchez looked disgusted with himself when Sparano found him.

"Listen son,'' Sparano said, "you didn't have to do that. You'd made six or seven positive plays in a row to get us there, and if you throw it away, it's third down and you keep the drive going. It doesn't have to be you winning the game by yourself. Cut your losses. Let your teammates help.''

If the writer can make up dialogue, can I do that too?

Sanchez replied, "Get the fuck outa my face coach, and go grind on 86...he tipped the fucking ball right to 'em."

He's not making up dialogue....King spoke with Sparano post game, who relayed the conversation to him.

A lot of times under Schotty, if Sanchez made a mistake like that, it would really bother him and he never would really rebound. He would usually make more mistakes trying to make up for the previous one.

Sunday, it seemed like Sparano coached him to the point where he shrugged of the mistake, and had a very solid performance after that.

Also, it looked to me like the play calling actually FIT the QB and talent that was on the field.

Sanchez played with more authority and confidence than I can ever remember seeing from him before, and I don't think it's coincidence. I'm not ready to name Sparano the second coming, but I feel a little better about our chances this year now than I felt before this game. Let's see if Sparano can keep this rolling after teams have 3 or 4 full game tapes to view. We'll see how he adjusts then, and we'll know more about what kind of coach he is then. Shotty never made any adjustments, it seems. Hopefully Sparano will.

One thing that's interesting is that Sparano isn't playing the approval game. There were a couple of shots of him and all 3 QB's clustered around him talking during the game when the defense was on the field and he was watching the field the whole time he talked.

That's a Parcells tactic through and through. If he's looking at you you're in trouble. If he's just talking to a group of people he's talking to the whole group not the most special guy in the group.

There was something very different about the offensive play calling this game. IDK WTF Schotty was calling, but it seemed like receivers were always running routes too close to one another and not opening the field. On Sunday, guys were getting separation and setting up passing lanes for Mark, and he did a great job of finding them on-time.

The other thing is Mark seems to have finally lost his nervousness in the pocket and has some poise this year. I think our Sanchize may have finally arrived...

Well one way to look at it is that he had no pressure on him for most of the game whereas last year he had a lot of pressure on him for most of the game.

What he went through last year must have made Sunday seem like a picnic in the park.

I know the play wasn't exactly textbook... but to me Cumberland really should have caught that ball! It's as much on him as it is on Sanchez...

Those are the kind of plays where if it goes well everyone is saying "Sanchez is a baller" if it goes bad everyone's saying he's an idiot...

They call those plays throwaways because that's what a veteran QB does with them.

The most important factor in determining how the score will change over the next few minutes is who has possession of the football. In that light you don't make plays like the one Sanchez tried to make unless it's 4th down and you have no choice. On 2nd down that's a throwaway.

Hopefully Sanchez got that, both from the result of the play and the way Sparano reinforced it right afterwards.

wow, that's pretty awesome if it actually happened

Also, i know i t was a stupid decision by sanchez to try that pass, but the receiver (i forgot who he was) should have caught it you know, he was looking at sanchez, he should have been prepared, but anyway i guess mark shouldn't have thrown that either

On a similar note did anyone catch Tone talking with Sparano during the review of his "almost" touchdown. Holmes was claiming to Sparano that he made the catch. Sparano blatently says "No you didn't your hand was down, look" mimics putting his hand down and points to the jumbo-tron, Holmes deflates.

I'm a big fan of Holmes but for some reason I found this really amusing. I'm really digging Tony as our OC. I think the gets him, and he gets the team. Let's keep this going!

Yeah...I'm sure that's exactly what he said on the sidelines.Verbatim.

He left out the part where he gave Sanchez a long, reassuring hug and split a stick of Juicy Fruit gum...

So you go from claiming the writer completely made up the quotes to you're sure that wasn't exactly what was said. Cool story.

Its called paraphrasing I don't know what you are getting at? Out of all the things to be skeptical about you chose a 3 sentence conversation? Kind of stupid.

It's verbatim of Sparano's recollection of the conversation.....not sure why you're all in a huff about it.
