This drove me nuts. I get you want to move him around, but on 3rd downs, do we really need to put Tebow at receiver? I don't think it had a marked effect whether or not we picked up the 1st down: there were a few times he was in where we got 1st downs, but is this really necessary? We're not going to throw to him. If Sanchez does, Tebow hasn't proven he can run routes, catch or have proper awareness as a receiver. I keep thinking we're setting up some crazy Tebow plays for down the line. I thought this might be the game we brought some of it out, against Sparano's old team, but I guess not. Maybe they're trying to lull teams to sleep with it, I don't know.
To some extent. I guess its like the placibo effect. You compare it with and without and see if it makes a difference. Its still early. But as I said in another thread, I'm nervous about using our "backup QB" in such a physical role if our emergency QB is on the inactive roster. Should Tebow injure his wrist on a punt protect play, he can still play the role player. But if he has an injured wrist and Sanchez gets say, a concussion, we are screwed at QB.
After all the talk and having tons of film from last year to examine and look at exactly what plays are a real triple threat (pass, run or hand off) what Sporanao has cooked up is mind boggling garbage. I swear I am starting to be all for keeping Tebow on the sidelines with clip board compared to some of the stuff I see them trying to implement. sure let him get some fake punts in and occasionally cost the other team a time out but these bizarro plays where they load one side of the line then go the opposite way against two unblocked defenders looks high school level....... check that...middle school level...
Pretty sure we threw to him. And I think you're correct, this is just giving other teams film to set them up for some kind of tricky nonsense later on, which will either work our be a total disaster. I'm leaning toward the latter.
He was lined up at H-Back when they threw to him. Bounced off his helmet I think. I lol'd then cried.
That's why I think it's crazy that people think Tebow would just automatically make a good full-time TE or FB because of his size. It's disrespectful to guys like Gronk and Graham. Tebow should only be playing QB or nothing at all.
That guy who ate a few burgers and drank a few beers in the parking lot and strolled in the middle of the 1st quarter. We are quite screwed if that happens.
If he can throw a spiral, then tell him to grab a helmet. But yes, you're right. We are screwed if that happens.
Keep in mind that Sparano(and Brian Daboll) are the clowns who had to go back mid-season and look at tape of Brandon Marshall in Denver to figure out how to use him correctly.
