I was referring to a post that mentioned recent (post-Mangini) drafts, so Gholston doesn't count in that case. Every team makes picks that don't work out; go look at any team's draft history. Wilkerson has been a solid contributor, and Ellis (who was a #3, not a #2) has been stuck behind Pouha but has looked good when he's been on the field.

Were you saying that when the team went to back-to-back championship games?

How many more years do we have to live off that while the team consistently moves in the wrong direction?

Ellis looked great when he got pancaked today on one of the tds. You're an apologist. Plain and simple.

The Tannenbaum era is going down as trade up/give away. New England has had over 70 draft picks over the last 4 years. Tanenbaum has has around 45. We lack good players and depth. It's all on the GM.

Your point is that Rex Ryan went to two AFC championships with Mangini's leftovers?

we all know that you are not going to hit on every pick. but, the odds are in your favor if you have more picks, especially before round 5.

bellicheat traded away bledsoe, seymour to get 1st round picks. traded down to stockplie picks, including pick in later drafts.

tannybum traded away picks and now we relie on undrafted guys for depth?

despite their problems on defense, and misses in the draft, the pats have won lots more games than we have since 2000. just the facts.

exactly, since we now know that tannybum didn't put any premium on character in the draft.

Unfortunately we have a ton of wholes everywhere on the team. Ive been saying it for years, they should NOT draft any other position than a true OLB, somone who acan get to the qb without constant blitzs. No running backs, olinemen, receivers, dbs etc. The most important position is a true pass rusher. U can pik up olinemen and rb's in later rounds. Too bad our talent scouts are the worst of the worst.

i will agree with you on the scouting/front office.

pitt and giants usually just draft bpa. if we had better scouting, maybe we could try that.

100% in agreement, bring in McElroy... but why stop there?

Let's run McElroy, Powell & McKnight as the backs. Kerley & Hill as the 1 & 2, and shift McKnight into the slot when we're going to a 3 wide.

Bench Sanchez and Greene. Cut Santonio now (why wait?)

And to be clear, I'm not trolling at all. Santonio isn't a true #1, Sanchez has proven he's not a starter at this point, and Greene has no burst.

What's the worst that could happen? They score 0 points again? OH NO!

The issue could be that Rex just sucks at recognizing talent. Westhoff seems to think McKnight is a beast, and I'd trust Westhoff's eyes at this point more than I would Rex's...

Rex admitted that Hill wasn't his pick... a good sign to me. Kerley wasn't his pick either.

McElroy knows what it takes to win, he proved that at Bama, and in the pre-season too. (and yeah, sure looks like the pre-season was spot on)

I know no one is going to take this seriously, and it'll never happen... but why the hell not? We can't look worse than we did today... and who cares if we beat a few also-rans?

If we can't beat, or even compete with the top of the league... it's time to try something new.

One play. When he started for Pouha in the preseason he looked very good. I'm not an apologist, but it's not the FO's fault that Revis, Keller, Hill, and now Holmes have all been hurt. The one week everyone was healthy was week 1 and look what happened. I think the problem is that Greene has fallen off a cliff from a year ago and Sanchez has continued to not progressed. Other than that the talent's there. Nobody was saying it wasn't coming into the season, so I find it unfair to say so now. Tannenbaum certainly hasn't done a great job but I think he's a solid GM.

If Tannenbaum hadn't traded picks, the Jets would've never had Thomas Jones, Jenkins, Braylon, Santonio, Sanchez, Greene, Keller, Revis, or Harris, and thus would have never gotten to the two championship games. During the same time period, the Pats have been to the same amount of championship games (2008 & 2012) and despite having so many draft picks have gotten few stars out of those picks.

so was the iceberg that the titanic ran into.

if i didn't know better, i'd swear the captain who ran that italian cruise ship aground and tipped over on its side is related to tannybum. just another bean-counter who lucked into a job via the peter principle. :shit:

did they play playoff games at home, or on the road? how many super bowls did they go to? if bellicheat sees a guy not doing his job, is he afraid to bench or cut him?

Not saying they're as good as the Pats but just having Brady basically automatically means the Pats will be a good team. And let's see what happens. Powell's been getting an increasingly large part of Greene's workload of late, and it's not like Tebow's a clear answer compared to Sanchez at QB. Don't forget they traded Hunter when that wasn't working out so they could do the same with the others who aren't living up to expectations.

WTF! This team's talent level is in free fall. Tannenbaum is public enema #1.

Oh and trading Hunter was a after-the-fact move, this after Tannenbaum gave him a nice guaranteed contract....the same guy who was a glaring weakness last year. Tannenbaum is NOT a 'football' guy. He's a cap geek. must go.
