http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/jetsblog/jets_have_unsold_tickets_for_monday_zvgCBOGAHxr4xIrpC98SBK Last week the Jets played before a ton of 49ers fans at MetLife Stadium. This week, could it be empty seats? According to a report on the NFL Network, the Jets had 12,000 unsold tickets remaining for Monday’s game with the Texans as of Friday. A team spokesman said the report is inaccurate and all of the Jets home games will be televised locally. It is unknown exactly how many unsold tickets would trigger a local TV blackout. The empty seats will spark speculation that the team could make a change at quarterback in order to spark interest. The Jets are already hearing cries to replace Mark Sanchez with Tim Tebow because of the offense’s struggles. There is also a belief Jets owner Woody Johnson could exert pressure on coach Rex Ryan to play Tebow at some point. Im sure Woody is gonna start really pushing for Tebow because obviously all he cares about is money and selling tickets... that fucker.
The tickets not sold are the ones on stubhub which are actually paid for and resold. So this article is not accurate cuz the season ticket holders have paid the jets already.
Tebow is not a panacea for the attendance problems. The Jets will get a very short-lived boost from him in that regard in my opinion. Then the offense will turn out to be just as bad or worse than it is now and the Jets will lose more games in part due to that and they'll have no Plan B available to boost attendance again. People aren't going to come back out to the stadium to see Greg McElroy play or Sanchez reinserted. Right now the thought of Tebow as an option is stronger than anything else the Jets have to keep fans interested. As soon as the reality of Tebow at the helm of a bad team emerges things will get really bleak for the Jets, both on the field and in the stands. This really is only fixable by Mark Sanchez at this point and I highly doubt that he can suddenly become a star QB with the people around him. I actually highly doubt that he can become more than a good game manager in the NFL at this point and those guys are only valuable to good teams that can support them well.
Don't rule Tebow out just yet..... The first half of our season is a killer, playing top team after top team. Rex will keep Sanchez in to get killed. Then....when the 2nd half of the season rolls around with weak team after weak team, Tebow will be inserted to be the 'hero'. Edit: Sparano will use the bye week to re-tool the new 'Tebow' offense.
Can u blame him? He a business man FIRST and u want to make money. Try running a business and not making money and see how long u have that business.
The margins on Q-Tips and baby shampoo ain't what it used to be....Woody got no choice but to charge the highest ticket prices in the nation. LEAVE WOODY ALONE!!!!!!
Why do people say that stuff? Woody has absolutely nothing to do with the Johnson & Johnson company. Never has. His only affiliation is being the grandson of the founder. The only job Woody has ever had in his entire life is to mange his trust fund.
My friends are begging me to come with them tomorrow night. I work Sundays so can never go. But its Monday night so............ im not going. Im not spending close to $200 for tickets and tailgating for that shit. Rather stay home and flip between it, the Yankees game and porn.
I hate to tell u but the Jets will be dipping into ur Yankees and porn time Monday night. The Jets are going to win.
