What good, exactly, is 400 yards of offense in a game that ends up in the loss that should have been a win?
Face it. Sanchez is not clutch. That handoff was absolutely inexcusable. Don't do that, and we probably don't go into OT. Then he doesn't scan the field and find WIDE OPEN receivers...but instead throws a redzone pick like a moron. He's stupid. He just is. At this point, why should there be any Sanchez defenders? He threw for a lot of yardage, but he didn't come up when we needed it most.
100% agreed. the MAIN problem with sanchez is that he isnt turning the corner at all...he flashes here and there but then craps the bed with a stupid play...bottom line...he is a handcuff to this team right now IMO... Also yes, Mcknight should 100% be our starter with Greene in short yardage IMO. Unfortunately, our coaching staff is too stubborn to do anything about either of these things.
He played well at times... against about the worst pass defense in the league, then - he also had 3 TOs. That's about par for the course for his "good" games.
I'm not angry at all. Merely stating that your thread's topic is covered in so many other threads & therefore you kinda look like a fool creating thread just to whine. Everybody here saw the game or we wouldn't be posting here. Anyway, your logic that ... Bottom line: Stephen Hill catches that ball - they win Defense stops them with a minute and a half - they win is stupid. You're just overlooking everything that transpired throughout a game with many ups & downs. The D made many big stops throughout the game but they weren't a dominant shutdown D. Does that mean the defense isn't good enough to win with? Hill dropped a very easy pass. Sanchez also threw an interception when there was a very big window on the same play for a TD. Same play also had a receiver wide open on the other side of the field. There's enough blame here for everybody to take some heat.
probably but its become difficult to tell the difference between the last few sanchez apologists and everyone else.
Well if the poster says "Don't blame Sanchez" or "Stop piling on Sanchez" then you have your two apologists. Besides that the majority of the board just says, well if you blame Sanchez for this loss you clearly didn't watch the game, and the remaining 5 posters or so think Sanchez did nothing good today and should get no credit becuase his wide receivers bailed him out by making catches.
Games are won and lost by big plays. That was a big play, and Hill dropped a pass that hit him in the hands, which is inexcusable for an NFL wide receiver. Hill makes that catch, the game ends with the Jets winning by 3 or 7.
Sanchez out played Brady today in Brady's own house, again: Sanchez: 328 yards, 26 pts Brady: 276 yards, 20 pts Even with the 2 points for the Safety, we win if not for Special Teams.
Interesting stat. Sanchez has had four games in his entire career where he's thrown for over 200 yards with no interceptions and no lost fumbles (taking out the fumbles part doesn't change the amount of games). Three of those four games were against Miami. Week 8 2009 vs Dolphins - 265 yards, 2 TD (25-30 L) Week 2 2010 vs Patriots - 220 yards, 3 TD (28-14 W) Week 3 2010 at Dolphins - 256 yards, 3 TD (31-23 W) Week 6 2011 vs Dolphins - 201 yards, 1 TD (24-6 W)
No offense, but I have no idea what teams without context against other QBs. Like Drew Brees had 350+, 4TDs, and 1 INT today so that doesn't make the list even though he played great
Do we even have a chance to win this game without some great throws by Sanchez? We get blown out if Sanchez does not play well. You look at his three poor play but ignore what he did to get the Jets in position to win. He made throws today that most Qbs can't or won't make. The firs completion to Kerly was a great throw. If you are going criticize his mistakes give him credit for the great throws he made today and he made some great throws.
Hill could have made that catch. Sanchez could've not thrown that interception when he had a TD or wide open Greene for 15+ yards on same play. Special Teams could have just not given up a kickoff TD return. Mistakes were made by numerous Jets players throughout the entire game. When Hill had the chance to make a big play, he also made a big mistake like too many of his teammates had done. Hill should've made the catch but lot of other Jets should've done things better before the Hill drop.
Sure, but I can say that Brees had 15 such games in those same 4 years. Of course Sanchez just came into the league at the time so it's not the most fair comparison. However, take away the Dolphins and Sanchez only did it once. As a Jets fan, it's sad to say that Sanchez almost never has a complete game where he's mistake free and gets a decent amount of throwing yards (200+ is not too much to ask for).
People seem to forget the drive in the 4th quarter that went 94 yards and a TD when we were down 10 points. There really wasn't "that guy lost us the game" player today. It was small things that all contributed to it.
