He'll get a chance to start, he won't do too well as it will be on a poor team, poor team is going to invest heavily in another QB in the draft, Tebow back to backup. Seems the most likely scenario unless a team like SF or WAS picks him up. Then he would be a backup but look good, but still go back to being a backup if the starter came back healthy.

If he goes to Jacksonville I can see him starting as they need a spark to energize that fanbase and tebow is the golden boy down there.

Let's see...third best quarterback on a lousy team with no good quarterback...hmmm...nope, he'll never do anything. Give me some of that KoolAid and I'll try again.

If Jax doesn't give him a shot this offseason, I don't think any team will want to deal with what happened here. He's just not a good enough player to deal with all the baggage that he comes with.

@merrilhoge hey merril. Josh Duhamel here. Wondering why you're such a jealous bitch about Tebow? He's 10x the player you were.

It's going to take a LOT more than Tebow to help Jacksonville make the playoffs. We're going to be in all sorts of cap hell next year, and we have a significantly better chance of making the playoffs than Jacksonville.

I thought Tebow should start for us this year, and I was advocating that before the season ever started:

    http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?p=2457662#post2457662

Tebow was in a really good position with Denver (and with us!) where he had a good defense that could allow for him to grind out games. I'm not sure the Jacksonville defense will keep them in games enough for Tebow to win with them.

His long term progress as a QB is going to be hurt by all this hopping around teams. If he really wants to become a "regular" NFL quarterback he should go shopping for the team with the best QB coach and work on taking snaps under center more along with his reads and throwing technique.

I also think Tim should be open minded about playing other positions. It would be a shame to see his talent go to waste as a backup QB. He belongs on the football field in some capacity.

Stats say Tebow last year was like Elway rookie year

I thought this was pretty surprising - the statitician from footballoutsider for tebow first year playing is most similiar qb stats to elway his first year 1983. And look what happend to elway. His qb stats are like a lot of rookie qb's including elite qb their first season - Manning. Those other qb's are given chance to develop instead of getting kicked out of NFL first year.
The same website ranks sanchez last out of 34 qb's. This is same guy rex said gave them best chance at winning. And it said his entire career performance was like average replacement qb. He just got lucky getting into playoffs cause there were worse teams.

Tebow has won on EVERY level when he has been given chance to play.
    - #3 PCT completion #1 qb RAT out of 120 teams last year in college so he was very accurate throwing
    - 2 college championships and heisman
    - last year he took denver 4-12 2010 1-4 2011 to playoffs and won against #1 D
    - this year 6-8 passing when they allow him to pass including long beautiful pass to WR who dropped it

Whoever gets tebow next year will be in the national spotlight and be written about by every news media org in the country and debated endlessly by ESPN Skip Bayless and Stephen A. esp if they win.
Woody was one who wanted tebow. He loves the spotlight and getting more attention over the Giants who had just won SB. I saw him on CNBC and he was so smug he was on national TV. He looked confused when they asked the old man if tebow was still a virgin which was pretty funny.

But Rex was committed to their 20 million dollar franchise player and never was going to start tebow. Rex has been with Sanchez from very start 4 years agao and as HC endorsed money to sanchez so rex feels responsible for making sure sanchez was their starting qb. Tebow did everything he was asked gain weight, punt protector, to get fair chance at starting and he was deceived. Rex was just not expecting sanchez to do so terrible, he basically doubled down on sanchez hoping he would get better and "was their best chance to win" after each terrible game. When sanchez got so bad rex was forced to skip tebow to play 3rd string Mcelroy. He used wildcat conversation as excuse not to play tebow and he used ribs excuse not play tebow even though doctors cleared him to play. Rex did not want to look like even bigger idiot if tebow won. And rex resented Woody for bringing in qb that might be better than his qb. So rex put tebow in every position except qb. Now in last games rex still won't let tebow play because if tebow loses with bad Oline (11 sacks on Mcelroy) it hurts his trade value.

What is really disturbing is that rex would rather let everyone think Tebow was a phony and quit on his team than deny the allegations that tebow refused to run the wildcat. rex really cared more about covering his a$$ and not using tebow than let everyone like hoge assassinate his character and reputation. And woody as rex's boss is just as responsible for letting that happen. Tebow has to realize that not everyone is as honest or high character as him. Not everyone will treat you fairly as you would treat others. Or as moral for that matter (eg. rex wife fetish)

This is just bad karma smacking rex in face for treating tebow so bad and stubborn lying to everyone including Jets fans. If jets had done what denver did last year and let tebow play they would have had a better chance at the playoffs. But rex has big mouth and when you have big mouth you have big ego and arrogance. That ego with a blind loyalty to the kid he picked out of college was more important than winning for the Jets fans. What a huge waste of talent and season.

I do think there is chance Mcelroy FAKED his headache because he felt bad for Tebow getting the shaft from rex. As a fellow qb Mcelroy saw how hard Tebow worked and that he was actually good qb in practice. He felt bad for tebow after tebow had to defend his character about wildcat situation. Mcelroy knows that he was never going to be permanent qb and that sanchez was coming back next season. It was last game of the season and they were out of the playoff race. So Mcelroy had courage to try to give tebow opportunity to play. This has been ridiculous season how they misused Tebow and so that is why this is very plausible.

Tebow will do whatever it takes to win run or pass. He just needs SMART coach who is not predictable (eg run up the middle all the time) and will let him win (like RGIII). Its like the coach called the most predictable conservative plays for few yards so they can get Tebow in and out quick so their prized boy sanchez can get back in there. Decent Oline and WR would certainly help. Actually letting him pass on 1st down instead of running every time would help.

I truly believe if Tebow really could not throw or was really bad qb in practice, ryan would be sending Tebow to start or given a lot of plays esp in last few meaningless games and show everyone how bad he really is. This way all the reporters would stop asking rex about tebow which was making ryan very uncomfortable. It would have been a relief for ryan to not hear anymore about tebow because rex could show everyone tebow was so bad and rex was right not to start tebow. Rex has big mouth needs to be right in how he is managing the team so this would have been the easiest way for rex to be right in front of everyone. But Tebow has only been given very few plays if at all each game because rex knows tebow is actually good and improved qb.
Tebow was 2nd backup qb all season so i am sure tebow did just fine in practice. He was 6-8 in games when they allow him to throw the ball.

And I would not trust what jets players say he is terrible in practice and has not improved. This is why tebow never started - he must be so bad in practice. This Jets org is full of anonymous a$$es who are LOYAL to sanchez and will protect their 20 million franchise qb sanchez. And they are JEALOUS of tebow coming on their team and getting spotlight and attention. Teammates are suppose to have each other's back and the fact that these anonymous players readily say how terrible their fellow player is says something about their hidden agenda toward tebow and their loyalty to sanchez.
So I really believe Tebow did not stink it up in practice or had a fair qb competion with sanchez. I am sick of all the tebow critics who have never seen tebow in practice say he stunk in practice and cannot throw based on what a bunch of anonymous lying resentful jets players who are loyal to sanchez said - are you going to believe them? They lied as badly as rex lied about sanchez was their best QB. And all the tebow critics and news media ate it up and believed those liars cause why else would ryan keep playing sanchez and then skipping over to mcelroy. Because rex knows if tebow won it would overshadow their franchise player who they just paid 20 million dollars and endorsed by ryan.
Again because sanchez was rex's baby rex never stood up for Tebow about what thos anonymous players said either.

Its corrupt organization and woody should be ashamed of his Jets team esp if he keeps liars in his org. When ryan cries to reporters afraid to lose his job you know hes just a lying slick willy weasel who got his hand caught in cookie jar. Its like criminal found guilty of what he has done and now the criminal is crying to save his life.

All this is just my explanation of what I think happend to this ridiculous jets org. I don't ever write this about ANYONE but I thought it was so blatantly unjust trying to ruin a man's career and passion. And how all the tebow haters say he cannot throw just because jealous anonymous jets players loyal to sanchez say that. His winning track record and work ethic says otherwise.
I would be one of the first to give up on tebow if he really stinks and loses. But the man just keeps winning so he needs chance. It just sucks we have to wait another year to see if he has improved and can be NFL qb. If he goes to last place JAX I predict nice improvement 8-8 season as it would be team building year. If they get a smart coach and some great players around tebow then it would be winning season and chance at playoffs TEBOW TIME!

Good points, but you are going to get flamed for bringing up college, or anything which gives Tebow credit for last year's Denver success.
