One of the talking heads on Espn say's there's no such rule in the rule book stating that a coach has to speak to the media after the season. The NFL is reaching to far. What don't people understand they want to hire the new GM before they start talking puplicly, They seem like they want to have all there eggs in one basket before they send Rex to the podium, The new GM should be hired by the end of the Weekend

I really don't care what Woody or Rex say until we have a new GM. Anything said will be twisted and critiqued to make the organization into a joke no matter what they say.

If they're not speaking until tuesday it makes me think the new GM will be hired before then.

Per the league's media policy: "Every team is required to 1) open its locker room for player interviews the day after the season ends and 2) hold a news conference during the week following the end of its season with its head coach, and/or owner, and/or club president, and/or general manager. The purpose is to respond to fan interest in the conclusion of the team's season."

In other words, come out and face your paying customers. Period.

Even if we could care less what they have to say.

Screw them. I'm happy the Jets are sticking it to the media.

Hey, what's the over/under on Rex shedding tears at his next presser?

How can there still be so much drama after the season is over? I mean, we went 6-10...why doesn't the media let us cry in our cave of loneliness and depression alone?

You notice how they're manufacturing it. The only thing we have done of note is fire Tannenbaum. After that, silence. Yet the media thinks that we're 'not respecting our fans'. Not respecting the fans would be not having any press conferences at all and not having any changes within the organization.

Does anyone have a concrete source in regards to the OP? You would think all of the media members would be saying something about it now.

Looks like Rex doesn't need to show. Woody can walk out tomorrow say "no comment" to a couple questions and then the media would have no case for complaint.

God I hope he gives the media the middle finger and just responds to every question with, "No comment."

It's clearly an organizational boycott. They know the rules.

I'm pretty sure Goodell has some sort of best interests of the game ability to make sure teams are open with the media in a timely fashion without getting away with a "no comment" technicality

They complain louder apparently when he doesn't speak, as it makes their job less easy.
Media will spend next few days picking apart what he says, which won't be much at all. But they will read into it left and right while ignoring the actual important topics to the team.

Who the fuck cares what he says right now with no GM, OC, or QB in place?
you know he won't throw anyone under the bus, so it's a fluff piece which the media will try to make more of.. That's why they want it.....to put off actual work.

He will say "Sparano and Mark gives us the best chance to win...if I thought MCelroy could help us win I would play him at QB or nose tackle" "If I thought the head grounds keeper could help us win I would put him at OC or head kitchen chef "

The reporters said Rex went on vacation to Bahamas.

He doesn't need to meet GM candidates or talk to media. Nope.
