For the reasons you mentioned one would hope even an idiot like Woody would not be so stupid as to say in so many words to Rex that he has one year that is make or break. Having said that... But even having said that, I doubt Woody has signaled that to Rex. If anything, given the manlove, quite the opposite. So more likely it comes down as you said to Rex's relationship with Idzik. If that really goes south, it says here that Rex goes before Idzik, even given the manlove.
Lovie Smith>Rex Ryan. It's so sad we have to keep Mark's enabler as HC. We should have moved on. But alas no. SOJ forever....................................................................
Your right we should have started Tebow. Your hate for Rex is all about Tebow it is getting old already.
another speculative thread based upon nothing at all except an idiotic rumor that has no basis in reality whatsoever. discuss amongst yourselves...
The pressure to get rid of him will be so great that it will happen......2013 is going to be a horrible year....4-12, 5-11......there is just nothing here to get excited about ...
The question, on this roster is offensive depth. That is no longer on Rex. According to Woody. Go back, watch week one.....and week 10. STop listening to the media. The kid can play. Week one healthy cast. They put up 40. Week 10, he demolishes his former boss complete ting 75 percent. And 30 seconds ago, Fatcessa and Gannon, went on the air with boomer, and Simms previously saying...there's no way he could have been successful.
Sanchez. Holmes. Edwards. Kerley Cumberland. Mohrinweg. You should be jerking off right now. Before I get to David Lee and Tebow.
You haven't seen anyone not subscribe to that theory? Are you blind or something? Your second point is kind of humorous, but not in the way you mean.
Depends on how the team does next year. If he goes 4-12 then he's gone and he should be. 3 straight years of decline and no playoffs isn't good enough for any team in the league. However if this team shows some improvement then it will be difficult to get rid of him. If he stays the same and goes 6-10 then he'll be on the fence again. Idzik should have a greater influence over Woody by this time next year and that may decide Rex's outcome.
mark my words, he will not be back in 2014 without a new contract. i can almsot guarantee you of that. he wont be able to keep any coaches going into a lame duck year as coach. it doesnt happen for a reason and it wont happen here. AND if it does it will probably be the straw that breaks the camels back for me as it will prove once and for all that woody johnson is a complete fucking moron and that he is running a team i cant stand to root for until he dies.
Give the guy a break. He was saying taking a crap feels so good, hes working on getting past the 50 percent of insertion
You are really fucking condescending. Go to another forum where you can find more 'elite minds' to talk to about the Jets.
Sanchez sucks. I guaran fucking tee he will NOT be starting next year. He can't play. How do you explain him forgetting a play on a buttfumble? And DON'T mention 'Gilyard, Schillens' or some such bullshit. How do you rationalize a top 10 draft pick forgetting a football play on national television? Simple question.
I still dont get why people are calling this a "rebuilding year" there's no such thing as rebuilding in the NFL anymore teams turn things around in a year. And what are we rebuilding exactly?? Sanchez isn't going anywhere, besides the old slow veterans and maybe a Revis trade there isn't much rebuilding happening just replacement, i just hate the term
rebuilding typically means getting rid of the old building and beginning to put up a new better building. we have so many old decrepit players that they need to be hit by the wrecking ball and then we will rebuild the team with younger and hopefully better players. i dont really understand your distaste for the word rebuild. unless you would prefer they resign some of the old guys or bring in other new old decrepit players. then i guess you could avoid the term rebuild...
I like rex, he's a good coach. He was a def coordinator so its not a surprise that he would focus on the def side of the ball and have a hands off approach towards the offense. I don't think rex has to micro-manage the offense or special teams in order to be a head coach.
Jets will be lucky to have 6 wins again in 2013 season. All the supporting casts are gone. If Rex can win 6 games, it counts as a great season to me.
Outside of this thread I have not seen anyone entertaining idea of Rex staying in 2014 without new contract. Now, admittedly I haven't read every post of every thread, so it's possible I missed it. **shrug** whatever works for you
