Sens have rough schedule left, man Chris Neil was a wrecking ball last night, he wanted Cooke bad, but the little girl turtled, so he took it out on the rest of the team Orpik, Defres...etc...good stuff
i don't watch much hockey, but why are the Rangers mediocre this year? I thought they went to the ECF last year and brought in Nash during the offseason, no?
Lockout, injuries, bad d zone coverage, couldn't score, but the dynamics of the team changed with the 2 big trades, playing much better now
Anybody planning on going to the Islanders/Rangers game next year at Yankee Stadium during Super Bowl week?
As much as I don't care for the idea of the multiple outdoor games, and I know this is completely contradictory, yeah I'll be there for one/both of the hockey games at the Stadium. Principle alone to be there to see it.
You could be right, we can't buy a goal right now and Anderson looks mortal again. Still, Washington will have a big say in the matter - if they beat the Jets tonight then they will secure the SE and third in the conference, which hopefully means they'll be resting up when we go there on Thursday, and a Jets defeat in either of their remaining games leaves us needing two points from our last three games. Washington could have the division secured, Philly are done for the season and planning their tee times, and Boston could also have the division secured; they're three tough games on paper, but let's see what actually happens. It was simultaneously very disappointing and completely unsurprising that Cooke pussied out, that's the sort of player he has been his entire career. Won't ever step up and answer the bell for his actions, because he's a cowardly, spineless fucking scumbag who deserves to have his career ended painfully the way Savard's was and Karlsson's could have been. It will be interesting to see what happens if we finish eighth - Karlsson is back in training and expecting to be close to ready for the playoffs. I can see a game like game 2 at MSG last year happening, with Matt Kassian playing the Carkner role and Chris Neil playing the Chris Neil role.
Possibly. Given he has been arguably our best player this year and is still clearly an elite level player at the age of 40, hopefully not. This team feels like it's close to being a contender, and if anyone deserves to retire with a ring it's Alfie.
all i know about tonight is that the game better not in any way shape or form resemble the first 1.5 periods these teams played last meeting. Really, that was the worst I've ever seen a team play and win 6-1.
Missed the first period and most of the second thanks to work. How have they been playing? Has it just been Florida playing good defense or are we just in our typical zero-offense zone?
Meh, at least we still play Carolina. Combine that with the Devils, we just have to win one of those. Florida's goalie played amazing tonight. Brad Richards looked pretty good on that pulled goalie goal. Zuccarello looked good. Thank God the Jets lost. Plus they are playing Montreal on Thursday. Montreal is fighting to win their division. They'd move up from 4th seed to 2nd seed so they won't just lay down for Winnepeg.
offense was good but could not close the deal tonight I see this as 2 steps forward 1 step back. Time to go forward again
Yeah but last Jets game is at home...It will be loud there Canes have won 2 in a row Rangers should have ended this tonight
Gotta wonder what would have happened if they called that douchebag Florida player for diving instead of Cally for tripping.
Perfect description Poe...Gordon's right too...2 steps forward 1 step back...no excuse to lose to this team...
I missed the first period but caught all the rest. Frustrating game. They didn't necessarily get outplayed, but sucks to lose to the worst team in hockey that additionally hasn't won in 6 previous games. Gotta get it done in Carolina now. I'm not in much doubt that the Rangers will get in the playoffs, they have to avoid Pitt in round one somehow.
No Excuses, Rangers should have won that game. Sorry, I think the next game determines if we make the playoffs or not. The Devils would like nothing more then to return the favor and knock the Rangers out of the post season. JE, I was wright about the Jets losing last night. I do, however think they will have a TUFF time against the Canadians. If I had to bet money, I think the Rangers and Jets are going to end up in the playoffs. BUT Jets and Sens are not out of the realm of reality with the Rangers.
