Long time job security on a professional sports team is actually a bad thing

Long term job security in anything is a bad thing. People get set in their ways. They adapt to comfortably fit the job instead of doing it well. They begin to take on the aspects of the workplace instead of adding their own unique aspects to the workplace.

Long term employment in a job is not a bad thing but only if it comes unsecured. The people need to be constantly working on honing their craft and doing it better in order to keep their jobs and the income raises that come with long term employment.

  3. Charlie casserly says on nfln all the time that the jets have talented scouts. That said many have been here for a long time dating back to parcells arrival in 97.

Its time for a new perspective. Jets have struggled with offensive skill for a long time.Additionally the roster tends to get unathletic very quickly. Thats not to say the jets havent targeted athletes, they just seem to acquire the wrong ones.

Looking forward to idzik bringing in some fresh blood

Jets have an infrastructure of resources to be a scouting/player development giant. It hasnt happened yet.

Given that Jets haven't had a 2nd or 3rd rounder pan out since David Harris 2007: Fire 'em all!

As fans we have no idea who is at fault..in the end it was Tannenbaum who made the picks and we have no idea what he based them on..anecdotal evidence has Bradway pounding the table for him to pick Wilson last year and being ignored.

I assume if Idzik doesn't like what they provided him this year they will be fired and if he did they won't.
