The only circus left in NY is the sports media

From the NFL pathetic live camp reporting of the Jets to the painfully obvious NY beat writers selective bias it is clear than the circus has not yet left town for the Jets, and it will not till the quality and professionalism of some of these rejects improves one hundred fold.

Every single day I get pumped by the trickle of information from Jets camp. One liners from the many faithful fans and tweets from some reliable sources is all we can go by. Lots of encouraging information is slowly sipping through, but unfortunately has to be filtered over a cesspool of bull shit from the press.

I would humbly suggest this has been one of the most encouraging camps for the Jets in a long time, yet much of the good stuff is ignored for a morsel of negative reporting that must be magnified to the hill.

If the media was graded in training camp based on knowledge and capability like the players have to, most every one of these clowns would be looking for a job.

Baldinger comment on Geno after the many good things Smith has done to date and focus instead on the fact that he was gassed after a specialty drill shows the pee brain mentality of these morons. In fact he by default is making Heath Evans look intelligent.

Heath Evans comes across as a fairly unprepared Patriots are the only team in the AFC east supporter and he apparently does not know the difference between the Giants and Jets OC staff, but at least he can point out when a rookie throws a great ball.

Cimini latest rant on who should make the final decision on the QB is a classic negative say-nothing-piece of journalistic trash. Really, is this the best NY can come up with....we should look for reject beat writers from the Inquire.

The joke of all came from the token NFL NETWORK blond with zero football sense that used the word circus 6 times in 20 seconds to make a point that no one understood, leaving us wondering how it feels to go through life without a brain.

I guess as Jets fans we need to raise above the journalistic incompetence and depend on the feedback from TGG, other reliable Jet sites and a few analysts that truly focus on football and the facts and not in the glamour of criticism.

There is just too much good stuff going on with the Jets this training camp to be excited about, the trick is to extract it from a non-reporting, zero positive feedback antagonistic media. To this end I thank TGG to help us keep our sanity. Thank you all and sorry for my rant.

    Five-Star thread. :jets:

The part about going through life without a brain killed me

It's sad but absolutely true with everything you said, I feel like even if we managed to draft Andrew Luck last year, everyone would say how bad he sucks and the Jets made another draft blunder.

I've given up watching SportsCenter and NFL Network altogether, TGG and NYJ.com are literally my two sources of Jet new.

What a sad world us Jet fans live in.

Honestly, I'm getting to the point where I won't even look for Jets information on other websites, I just come here now...

I was watching the segment where the stupid host on NFL Network said circus 6 times in 20 seconds or something like that and I was dying of laughter at how stupid she sounded... Then when she compared the Tebow-Sanchez thing to Smith-Sanchez I just laughed even more... At least the reporter said something like the Tebow-Sanchez thing is nothing like Smith-Sanchez.

Honestly, Rich has gotten better. Manish actually defended Geno against that idiot who called Geno out of shape.

NFL Network...that blond wants us to be a circus sooooo badly, it's making her wet. The other hosts weren't buying it, though.

I think Idzik is slowly changing perception. This is the first time in a while I have heard circus from a major news outlet. Only that NFL Network host insists on using it. We're being talked about like a football team instead of a sideshow like last year

As you all know, I've been bitching about "the circus" for the last several seasons. I'm glad it finally left town with Idzik's arrival and Tebow's departure. Now, when you talk Jets football, the conversation is actually about football instead of slapstick, soap opera events.

For once, I'm happy with the peace and quiet. Now that the team can simply concentrate on football, perhaps the rest of us can as well.

The 'circus' was always the media frenzy to begin with..

It amazes me how many people eat it up and are convinced the Jets are the most dysfunctional and least talented team in the league.
Every victory we get this year will be sweet, as the 'worst' team in football just beat your team.

I'm at least glad the majority of Jet fans (or at least this board) has finally realized it, and has stopped regurgitating the nonsense as if it were fact.

The Idzik thing is going to be cast as a power struggle, between Rex and Idzik.

Its not going to happen, then the media will declare Rex the loser.
    But....

Rex, is still the guy with the owners ear.

  13. Great original post.

Sounds like Jet fans are united on this issue. The media bias is over the top & the overall coverage of the team is horrid.

Aren't the Jets a big enough "story" now for these media outlets to hire CREDIBLE football analysts?Alot of Cimini haters but say this for him..at least he knows football.

On a more national scale why do some of these clowns get paid to write a column or have an opinion? James Walker is literally an embarrassment. He constantly gets players/coaches & even schemes wrong. It's an insult to the AFC East to have him be their ESPN columnist. There are others just as bad. I've found it patronizing to the point where I shun ESPN & any opinion based sports show.

Remember that the reporters are only reporting what they have heard or seen.

The facts are that Geno was actually gassed & that Idzik is going to be involved in the QB starter. Actually RR is the person responsible for MS which is the fact so the GM in this case may be more of a middle man since he knows that RR picked MS & would not want his face splattered with egg if Geno beat out MS. All NYJ fans should send RR I Luv U Cards for drafting MS

Once the NYJs become a elite NFL team all will change so blame the NYJs for the negative press they receive because they have been losers now for 44 years & counting & that to is a FACT

Couldn't agree more. It's been the media since day 1. The portrayal of our team as a circus is very simple minded. Mark Sanchez could be highly criticized because he was terrible last year, but that doesn't mean the entire organization is a joke. There are a lot of bright spots on this team.
