It's a joke that Sanchez is in the competition. Nothing he has done in his 4 years is worth another shot.

I hope Geno gets the start, but it would be very un-Rex like. He will cling to Sanchez as long as he can.

the most telling thing is that sancho is only here because it would cost 17 mill to get rid of his useless ass.

geno would have to play 16 years at his current salary to match what iw would cost to get rid of sancho right now.

Not under Idzik. This team/management has a whole new dynamic. If Rex sides with Geno he will have more of a chance to stick around next year in my opinion.

Come on. I love your posts Dude. Don't do that. You know damn well what I mean. You said "bold", yet your choices are Sanchez or Geno. Ooooh.....you said it will be decided sooner rather than later. Bold indeed. Pickung McElroy would be bold. A timeframe doesn't make it any better than a 50/50 chance.

I like your pick and I hope you are correct. I've said before. Sanchez has reached the Richard Todd point of no return, but your prediction is far from bold when it's limited to 2 QB''s.

Your, "What the hell is 50%" response is weak.

I'm not a Sanchez supporter or anything (as you can tell by my avatar) but the guy did get us into 2 AFC Championship games.. And don't gimme that bullshit GREAT defense and GREAT running game... Yes in 09' the defense was great and the running game was pretty darn good... But in 10' the run game was nearly as good and the defense took a step back and Sanchez made some pretty big plays in the 2010 season if I remember correctly the biggest games that are in my head are the games vs NE (Week 2), Detroit, Cleveland (Holmes also made a great play), Houston (beautiful balls to Braylon and to Holmes), Indy in the playoffs (Great ball to Braylon to set up the GW FG he also led 2 drives where LT ran it in for TDs), the playoff game vs NE (3 passing tds), and the championship game vs Pitt where Sanchez almost led the comeback...

You can hate on Sanchez all you want, I think the dude sucks now... But it's not very wise to say that Sanchez has done nothing in all four of his seasons. He deserves to get another shot because the team last year was awful we had no weapons on offense and Sparano at OC and for what he's done for us in the past... He's given us some good memories don't forget.

Geno was the #1 QB in the draft until whatever the hell happened killed his stock

Giving up on him after 1 year in a new system and seeing all that growth he's had so far is just stupid

I'd say getting us to 2 AFCCGs is pretty significant given how little this franchise has actually won. He wasn't too bad in 11' either he just collapse at the Eagles game week 15 and never got back to the way he played before that. He's done enough to earn this one last shot.

agreed. the NFL is all about NOW. Who the hell cares about what happened two years ago? Sancho has had 2 horrible years back to back. That is enough to pull the plug in this league. The fans have 100% given up and will never be supportive of him anymore. The teammates probably are siding more with Geno for a breath of fresh air. Just start Geno week 1 and put sanchez on the bench for good

You can't make the same mistake twice... The Jets played Sanchez too early and if they played Geno week 1 and he's not ready, you can't bench him for Sanchez...

Also, Sanchez wasn't too bad in his 3rd year he just collapsed at the end.

He had moments here and there, but it's not like he was just constantly balling out. Those AFCCG years were a team effort with the majority of it coming from the D and running game. Sanchez game-managed and had his moments, though.

In the end, a 5 year, 5th overall, marginal talent with the ceiling of an 'ok' game-manager is not worth hanging onto.

It's great he was the QB

I'll forever love him for going into New England and winning vs the Patriots

    But that's the past

    Time to move on

2 AFCCG definitely earned him some credit. As it should, even if he wasn't the primary reason.

But he was a terrible regular season QB in 2009, improved to average to below average in 2010, plateau'd in 2011 hitting a late-season wall, and then went in the tank last season.

The savings he earned during the 2 AFCCGs has been used up.

I wouldn't be stunned if this were the case, but there's still a week for things to shift.

We've seen rookies step in week 1 and succeed. Just because Sanchez ended up sucking it doesn't mean Geno will suck either.

The league has now really shifted to throwing the rookie right in there. We didnt "ruin" Sanchez. He just reached his ceiling earlier than we all hoped and now he is the laughing stock of our team/league.

I'd rather be safe than sorry.. If Geno is ready than by all means start him... I mean I want Sanchez out of here but the guy deserves one last shot... The money and the past says so. We know how Sanchez can play when he's playing well... He's pretty decent.
