I hate brett favre. but comparing brett favre to mark sanchez is just idiotic.

Brett favre, for all the picks he threw, still had 180 more TD passes then interceptions. 180! yeah he would throw up some funballs and try and squeeze stuff into super small windows, but the good that came with it far outweighed it.

Sanchez is like all the downside of favre with none of the upside.

Start McElroy before Sanchez screws up this season like last year.

there really isnt much to screw up this year. we would be wise to play the young guys and try and develop the people who are going to contribute long term, or find out who can and cant hack it.

If Sanches continues to play badly then Smith plays. Can we end this infatuation with the Jets Mr. August?

The odds on the Jets being willing to hand the job to a guy who got knocked out of his first start with a concussion after taking 11 sacks are low. I suppose if they decided to cut Sanchez and Smith was not ready to go they might hand the ball to McElroy figuring he gives them a few games buffer until he's carted off the field and they have to go with Smith.

    we really dont.

    we have bottom 10 QBs
We have an average offensive line
    we have bottom 10 backs
we have average wideouts(they are young, but still as of now nothing special)
    we have bottom 5 linebackers
    we have an average secondary

other then our defensive line, we have no game breakers and no real talent. we have alot of young guys with potential. we arent a good team regardless of who is at qb. our ceiling if everything goes perfectly is like 6-8 wins

09 had an excellent OL, and very good running game, that allowed Sanchez to not have to do too much and the Defense a lot of breathing room.

I agree, we've seen enough of Sandwedge, if Garrard didn't get hurt he would have started and he would be inactive every week, where he belongs

The first 2 years with Sanchez, the Jets had a very good offensive line, running game and defense, The running game opened up the passing game, he was basically a game manager. Without a running game Sanchez is expected to do too much, hes not good passing under pressure and as things get worse he gets worse. At times on the sideline when hes biting his fingernails he looks like hes having an anxiety attack and is gonna cry,, he is terrible under pressure.

Under the Same OC, favre tossed 22 to 23 picks.

How can you judge the upside?

Don't get your hopes up. Pretty soon it will be "Andy Reid was the de facto OC"

  14. I made the original comparison & stand by it. No Sanchez is not on the level of ANY of the names i threw out.But he doesn't have to be. For all the criticism he gets he sure has produced alot of touchdowns.and Wins. Maybe that's not everything but it damn well counts for something.

Most Quarterbacks throw for interceptions. When things are going WRONG around them..they tend to happen more frequently. The world is not "All of nothing" like so many on here continue to argue.

He's got a gunslinger mentality & can make plays downfield. Is he perfect?Far from it.Do the turnovers need to be minimized? They sure do. But you can win with this guy.Jets HAVE won with this guy. Friday night the Jets FINALLY displayed a viable passing offense w/ REAL downfield ability. Not just acouple lucky timing routes. Mark Sanchez was apart of that.

Well he was responsible for awful Eagles pmaycalling

  18. I've been called all those things. But I also know how to read through context & understand when someone is trying to make a real comparison regarding both thier games & not making an all encompassing "chest beat top 100 reality tv lists" along the way.

Favre was a gunslinger QB who was prone to interceptions. He made alot of big plays & is destined for the hall of fame. Sanchez is ALSO a gunslinger style QB prone to interceptions. HE TOO has made alot of big plays despite so many on here's wreckless hateful agenda that is supposed to portray Sanchez as Billy Joe fucking Tolliver. He is NOT destined to be a hall of famer. It's pathetic that I even have to go to this amount of detail..

Sanchez a gunslinger ? you have to be kidding, he threw a pic 6 to a defensive lineman the other night, he fumbles, he falls down and he probably has a record for short passes that get picked off and run back for touchdowns, Favre won a superbowl and brought his team to another..Favre was a gunslinger,, Sanchez just sucks.
