Alright, so after three preseason games I think it would be fun to see who you guys think will be the leader in sacks this year.. I'm going to have to go with Wilkerson. I would pick Coples if he didn't have the injury though.
It's funny that no one even really had his name linked to us for the draft and no one had any idea who he was when he was called (at least the casual fan). Dude looks to be a stud so far
Damn you beat me too it. I was thinking Geno Smith since he will probably get the week 1 start if Snatchez is still injured.
I voted Wilk, as he is the best pass rusher and most dominant force on our D. However, with the inevitable double teams he'll see, that will certainly open up room for a guy like Richardson.
Those double teams will probably be huge for the rest of the d line... I'm really excited to see how the pass rush is this year.
I went out on a limb and said Richardson. Big Mo and Couples are going to draw double teams and focus because they are the "known" quantity. Especially Big Mo. That is going to leave Richardson to wreak some early season havoc which will give him the edge out of the gate. By the time the league catches up to Richardson and starts to evenly distribute protections he will have a comfortable lead.
I'ma go with the only guy on the list who is both healthy and has had double digit sacks in a season since high school. Seriously, the Jets have some real studs on the defensive line but they were all low first or high second tier pass rushers in college or their years so far in the NFL. Sheldon Richardson is going to be very disruptive on the defensive line for the Jets but he had 4 sacks last season.
JJ Watt had 7 sacks his last year at Wisconsin and 20 his second year in the NFL. These guys seem to blow up in the NFL, hopefully our guys are like this too. As for who will have the most sacks, I'll go with Quinton Coples. Even with his injury, I think he'll come back and dominate.
went with barnes. something just tells me hes gonna hit double digits this year. next choice is sheldon, i think hell ee a lot of one on ones and win those more often than not
I would have said Coples, but don't know when he's back. So it was a toss up between Wilkerson and Shelly, I think Shelly will end up getting double teamed and Wilkerson becomes Reaper-man
We haven't had a double digit sack guy in years ,I say Wilkerson has a monster year with 11 sacks and Couples trails him with 7 ,Richardson gets 4 that's what I think
We finally have a pretty good D line capable of rushing the passer ,our front 7 is a few linebackers away from being one of the best in the league
