yeah I wouldn't be shocked if Miami won 7 ... the fins 1st 8 games are pretty brutal but the last half isn't so bad. The Jets schedule seems to look similar in that respect.

It's hard to predict things especially with injuries, but if both could survive the 1st half ... things could set up nicely in the 2nd part of the season.

Our best chance of success this season, comes with Geno under center. Give him a shot.. I think he will surprise you.

I will be rooting for him, as much as I like Mark I hope he doesn't play anymore b/c it means Geno will have played well. I am just not confident he is ready, I think we are rushing him but I hope I am wrong.

Trial by fire.. No doubt he is going to make mistakes, but I think Geno has the mindset to be able to learn from them and bounce back.. We will see though.. If he is still shitting the bed by Week 5, and Sanchez is healthy, I am all for putting him back in there... No doubt Sanchez has the talent it's just those dumb mistakes that keep my from believing he will ever be more than a backup.. Maybe this system change is what he needed though.. We shall see.

He's going to make mistakes w/o a doubt. I hope our fanbase cuts him a little slack and doesn't start booing in the 1st qtr but I expect that. The key is limiting mistakes, no "bad" TOs like we saw last year, no mental mistakes like running out of the EZ. marty will give him a gameplan to succeed with, it's up to Geno not to try and do too much.

I forsee as worse as Kotex last year with us or even worse. In our FF league of 12 teams there was not 1 repeat not 1 NYJ player selected

    3-13 maybe with some luck 4-12, 5-11.
imo we just don't have enough playmakers on either side of the ball.

well I'm damn glad I don't run this team.

this fan stuff is hard work.

pre-season never tells me anything. they start calling plays for real Game One. All that vanilla will be gone.

It won't be high flying offense just yet.. They need to ease Geno in there the first 3-4 games. Get him comfortable.

Teams on the schedule that I think the Jets are better than: Oakland, Buffalo x2, Tennessee, Cleveland.

Teams I think have a big talent advantage on the Jets:New England x2, Atlanta, Pittsburgh (Big Ben), Cincinnati, New Orleans (Brees), Baltimore.

Teams that are a toss-up maybe leaning a bit away from the Jets at this point: Miami x2, Carolina, Tampa Bay.

Ok, so the Jets are probably going to beat the teams they are better than 3 out of 5. Maybe 4 out of 5.

They're going to beat 1 or 2 teams that have a big talent advantage on them. Pittsburgh and New Orleans are probably where the win or two are going to come from because when you are overly dependent on your QB to be a star player Rex's D can make you pay for that. Both of those games are in Met Life also and that will help.

They're probably going to split the games where there's no clear talent advantage at this point. So 2-2 there. Maybe 1-3 if things break badly for them, like the Bucs getting an opening day win or the Fins sweeping the season series.

That gives the Jets somewhere between 5 and 8 wins this year. I think that's a reasonable range to project given what we know right now. If Geno Smith plays fairly well and gets better in the second half of the season they are in the upside of that range. If he has rookie blues all year and the Jets are looking for another QB next year then they scrape the bottom at 5 wins.

    7-9

we screw the pooch a little too much for a winning record, win at least one game we weren't supposed too, lose one we supposedly could and get a few tight loses along the way.

this team is too good for this 3-13/4-12 shit as far as I can see. but i've been taught to curb my enthusiasm so a winning record is not something I can guarantee (though its possible if all goes right)

a playoff push is possible if the team gets it together in the second half of the season, and thats ONLY if they have a winning record during the bye.
