To me it was obvious the front office wanted to give Geno every opportunity. It was also obvious the OC did not think Geno was ready. That has been pretty much proven Geno has not been ready and has taken a very good OC to work around Geno's rookie learning curve. It is all a mute point now Mark is hurt and Geno if nothing else is holding his own and hopefully keeps getting better. Josh Freeman was just signed by Minnesota and Mark is a better QB he will find a spot next year no doubt.
Nah I just figured people would appreciate that in this thread. I still think he is an awful QB that has to go
You're stating the obvious. The NY Jets management didn't believe they had a starting quality QB on the roster when TC began. That's why they didn't name a starter. It's clear they weren't sure Geno was ready. It's also clear they were sure Sanchez wasn't ready.
Trolling and talking are two different things. I know the difference, but clearly you have proven over the past week you do not.
I'm pretty sure you have no idea what you are talking about most of the time. So anyone "talking" about Sanchez's time here in a positive manner is trolling? Maybe we should all just call him garbage and buttfumble and faggotheadband and say good riddance, because that makes you a good Jet fan, right? How about YOU not troll your Sanchez crap in a goodbye thread to Sanchez. Seriously, why don't you shut up for once--or go start a new "Sanchez sucks --just sucks" thread. _
Let me break this down to you guys so you can understand. We hire a new GM, most of the time Gms come into a bad situation and need a HC and QB. Our new GM inherited a top 10 HC so our new GM could only bring in a QB to put his stamp on the team. New GM was obviously not desperate to get a new QB or he doesn't wait until our 3rd pick to take one but he does take one and wants his guy(naturally) to win the job. There is a "competition" for the job as the mantra in camp was competition at every position. Mark Sanchez clearly outplays Geno but new GM wants his guy to win the job. mark gets sent in during 4th qtr thanks to that and gets hurt. New GM didn't want Mark hurt but did want Geno to start so he gets his wish. If Mark was healthy he would be starting right now as Geno didn't look NFL ready until the game the other night. If the CS was making the decision Mark would have been named starter long before the NYG game.
Pretty sure? Most of the time? For someone who is attempting to insult me, you are really into weasel words. Please cite a post where I said that. Feel free to dig through my post history. Or are you attributing something to me that I never posted? Please find a post where I called Mark Sanchez any of the above. You're setting up a straw man argument, I would expect more from someone who claims to be educated. Anyway, you're messing up another thread with your personal attacks on me. How about we take this to PM's, or the BS forum, where we can discuss how many logical fallacies you commit per reply.
how many teams would REALLY be looking to start him right now? off the top of my head the only situations where he would be a better option than what is there now are JAX, MIN and TB(although they have Glennon, who they seem to want to give a shot to, and will most likely draft someone to challenge him in the upcoming draft). I don't see another team that would want him as a starter.
There were some exciting times and some terrible times....... it was a fun ride for a little while. Good Luck Sanchez
I don't think any team will just hand Mark a starting job, but they will give him a chance to compete, and he will earn it.
With the level of talent these kids coming out of college these days have, it won't be easy for Sanchez to outright win a job unless it's a team w/o a viable Qb like say, The Vikings or Jags or perhaps even Oakland as I'm not real impressed with Pryor.
Mark's best bet is to try to latch on as a backup with a really good organization, maybe the Steelers or Packers. He needs to sit for a couple seasons, and then be in a good place if the starter gets injured. No team is going to give him a starting shot. Jax and TB are taking QB in the next draft, no question, and if the Vikings don't like what they see from Freeman, they will be too. 1st round QB picks get thrown into the fire right away these days. No fanbase is going to accept using a high first round pick on a QB and then having Sanchez either start or be some type of mentor. I mean come on...
Not impressed with Pryor? He's been solid for Oakland, and he's very young and talented. Sanchez def could be a back-up for the Vikings or Jags. Cardinals if things continue to not work with Palmer, if the Browns don't get a QB soon that could be a destination. There will be options for Mark to secure at least a back-up job.
Yeah I didn't get the Pryor comment either, he has vastly exceeded expectations so far to the point where I don't even think the Raiders will get a top 5 pick or take a QB in the first round. I can't see them having interest in Sanchez. Cardinals could be an interesting option for Mark. You would think they would want to draft a young QB and groom him behind Palmer, but maybe they want Palmer to have a more veteran backup if he continues to play like garbage.
