    E. Sanders and Nicks is what I would assume now.

I had a feeling Maclin would resign with Philly

Until we get a legit QB it will be slim pickings for a while at FA WR. We should keep drafting a QB until we get a good one. Nobody lets a good QB walk in the modern day NFL except Indy. Fix the O Idzik. The defense is good.

Nicks has been on a downward slide since 2010, 2011 but he usually plays, he's played in 70 out of 80 games and missed just 1 game last season.

Hopefully this will make the Jets go after Golden Tate, if he hits the market.

Schefter also tweeted once the deal was done that if he didnt' sign with the Eagles "The Jets and Broncos were going to make a push for him"

whatever, i still think Nicks is the best deal we can possibly get

Damn it. Oh well I guess it's on to Sanders and Nicks. But if this isn't disappointing.

How is a team in a different conference resigning their player Jets news?

whats interesting to me is that he turned DOWN a 5 year deal apparently in FAVOR of a one year deal. That tells me he doesn't want an ACL injury cheapened long term deal, he wants a healthy year to determine his value in the market, with the threat of free agency agency and competitive spending bolstering his price.

Meaning if we wanted him we would have had to have gotten him without the guarantee of keeping him longer than 2014... unless we payed him big in the open market.

Yeah, I'm really glad the jets didn't grab him, it might not have been worth it and in all actually would have NONE of the cost benefits people were looking for.

It would have been good to get Maclin at 6 million on a one year deal, I'd have done 7 maybe more to get him on the Jets. He has the potential to be a 10 million a year earner so it would be a deal. It was easy to see Maclin would want a one year deal considering he knows he is worth 10 mil if he was coming off a healthy season.

  15. Why do I have a funny feeling we're gonna end up not getting a WR in FA?

Why does it always seem to be Philly who screws us out of a player we want?

Really not a big deal,Maclin was coming off a big injury anyway what if we got him and he reinjured himself and turned into Holmes.Way to risky of a signing anyway there's a ton of other options free agency hasn't even started yet

There are quite a few about to hit the open market. I would be highly surprised if we did not sign one

Because your a downer, that won't happen ,we have to much cap space ,a new gm who needs to fix the offense ,and we have plenty of room for WRs where a top FA WR who is a num 2 option on his team like Decker or Tate can come here and take the 1 spot on depth chart

I was probably one of the Jets fans most interested in signing Maclin, but seeing how things went down, I'm now glad the Jets didn't get him. Sometimes, the best deals a team makes are those deals that don't actually happen. Sometimes they don't happen because the team wises up, and sometimes they just get lucky. I think we may have just dodged a bullet.

If he hit the open market and we were competing with Denver for a deal I doubt he would've signed with us anyway. His goal was a productive season so that he set himself up for a nice long term contract next uear.

So even if we offered him significantly more money than Denver, I still think he turns us down cause he knows he'd have much better stats playing with Manning, and therefore a much better long term contract from any team next year.

I think the only way we would've gotten him was if we offered him the type of long term deal that he was looking to get next year with all the other teams only offering him a one year show me contract. And in no way is it in the Jets best interest offering him that type of deal considering the injury he's coming off of.
