Actually cutting a player technically is not a breach of contract. The fact that lawyers don't break team doors in this regard is proof enough.
Hill is such an enigma. He was Geno's favorite target at the beginning of the year and was showing some potential but disappeared all of a sudden. Whether that's a matter of teams keying in on him is tough to say. Unfortunately I think it is an injury concern. It seems like he has balky knees as this kind of early spurt followed by disappearance has happened two years in a row. He seems more fitting as a big play #4 receiver because of his speed but needs his reps relegated to keep him going the whole year.
Well we tried to sign Vontae and DRC, but other teams overpaid. How is that trying to fail? People that would actually think a GM would set his coach up to fail sound really unintelligent. A team not doing good reflects on the GM too. And the "multiple news outlets" you refer to are all Mehta's janitor buddy saying he imagines Rex would be upset.
We have decent talent at receiver with Kerley/Nelson/Decker plus a 1st round WR. Plus we have Cumberland and we could possibly bring back Winslow. That's a decent core of receivers to throw to. Hill is in his 3rd year if he can take a step up that would be huge.
You're right. Rex giving up on CBs is not likely. Still, no reason it can't work. Idk, I think Rex is like a baby Einstein -- cries without his toys, but ultimately capable of building a palace from scraps. So big bad Idzik is taking his favorite Teddy bears. That's ok -- Rex will bitch for a while and then will find a way for D to work. It's actually a good relationship - little boy wants all the shiny toys while wise dad hats him only what he really needs.
...what was the point of this post? Giants have made atrocious signings this free agency and are certainly not a team to hold a standard to
Our secondary was awful last year, and right now you and I could start at FS and CB. Tannenbaum gave rex toys and got us two deep playoff runs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Honestly i just say look for a veteran nickle corner and let Kyle and Dee run the show.. The thing about having a young team is sometimes you dont try to put proven talent in their place as they grow u gotta let them do their thing. I dnt wanna sound off topic but in the NBA ima OKC fan and i see similarities with their GMs. OKC's GM Presti Rather than changing his roster drastically and spending top dollar on free agents every year to keep up with competition he let HIS guys thaT he drafted develop into a solid team and jus signed veteran stop gap guys to help at certain match ups.. I kno they are two way different sports but the style of rebuilding his just the same.
Agreed. I won't take any of these reports seriously as long as they are are anonymous. The NY media is ridiculous especially in regards to the Jets. The Jets haven't provided any fodder this season which is killer to the media. Keep it close to the vest Idzik and f*** the media
Rappaport just said our offer was bigger than the Giants for DRC but the Jets didnt do well recruiting him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If true, it is seemingly a smart approach, but if Idzik is being smart then why make the panic move after he already agreed to terms with the Giants?
Here are some free agents or trades that were brought in: Scott, Leonard, Landry, Cromartie, Pryce, Sheppard. Guys who were acquired just before Rex also helped such as Jenkins and Pace. But hey, who wants a #1 defense and deep playoff runs. I'm sure by year 3 when reality sets in about Idzik people will be longing for the days of competitive Jet football.
I stopped believing jets reports a while ago..media for some odd reason is out to make the jets look despicable for some reason i dont understand. Maybe its Rex.. But from what i remember the jets have never done shit to deserve it.. Its not like we win almost every game like the gaytriots .. We r the bad guys for like nooo reason smh
