I guess he's not purely a mercenary...or else Kraft is full of shit. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on...lle-revis-took-less-money-to-come-to-patriots
I think he's just saying that to annoy the Jets. Revis is not the type to turn down a higher offer- also the deal happened so quickly that I think he might not have been having serious negotiations with other teams.
No Revis is an asshole. He clearly took less, complete scumbag. He want every dollar from the Jets but signs some half assed contract from the Patriots that could backfire if he has a serious injury. He easily could have gotten a long term deal.
If by cheap they mean 12 million for one year but 20 million the next year if they exercise the option on him and if they don't exercise they option the contract states they can not franchise him. So basically they have to pay him 20 million for year 2 or cut him.
hopefully after Geno torches him for 3 TD's in a Jets blowout the camera capture him saying "best corner in the league, suck my dick."
I'm tired of hearing about him already. It's sad couple years back he was a lot if fans fav Jet of all time. Now look Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I see Revi$ going to a different team every time his 'payday' comes up. Of course he's still a fairly young man, but cannot but feel he'll become a journeyman going from team to team and not really achieving anything except money. To think at one point he was up there with the likes of Deion Sanders.
Its just typical owner speak to big up their own actions. Yeah he chose us, we got him cheap! blah blah! however you look at it 12m is not cheap for a cornerback. Maybe cheap for Mevis but not cheap. Also if Revis does want to win a ring, then he chose a team that is always in the playoffs and always in with a chance. So history shows he made a shrewd choice in that regard. I dont hate him. He is just a typical modern day merc NFL player. We got some good years out of him, but he also screwed us financially. But trolling around the teams his legacy is not what it was going to be.
Jets should take his knee out. I do not wish injury for players under any circumstance, but this one takes an exception.
We don't even know at what level he can still play..at 12M he may still be overpaid, we will find out this year. Of course he probably went to the AFCE because he knows at least 6 games a year he won't be facing a franchise QB making him look better anyway.
Revis hasn't been on the Jets in two years. This is a Jets thread? BTW Robert Kraft also said Aaron Hernendez had turned a new leaf prior to him being arrested for murder.
