With a creamed corn floater containing niblets…..niblets……niblets….. Oh, and looking forward to seeing what this McDougle kid's got : )
Like others here have said, it's great that he doesn't HAVE to start for us right away. He can compete with Patterson and Walls for the #2 job. May the best player win, if that's Dexter great, if not he can sit and learn getting occasional playing time as a #4 corner and on special teams. I don't see Patterson being here next season so Walls is his major competition for the long term. I'm rooting for Dexter over Walls cause he's younger and cheaper and God willing has a higher ceiling. Our secondary would be sick if we hit on Pryor and Dexter, with Dee playing cb on the opposite side. It might not ever be as good as Revis and Cro, but it can be good enough with this young d line.
Dex was picked 3 rounds too soon. I am not saying he can't come in here and make an impact, but you guys are talking like he is the second coming of Deion. Think we all need to pump the brakes.
I'm with you on that. Some guys watched a 2min highlight video that wasn't even particularly impressive and they act like he's the best CB to play the game. Five minutes before we drafted him none of these people even knew who he was. Can he maybe contribute to our defence at some point? Sure. I'm not saying he's a complete bust with no future but at the same time lets not annoint a guy who barely played last year, was arguably drafted a few rounds early and has yet to take a snap in the NFL as a future HOFer.
The only people arguing whether he was picked a few rounds too early are people with absolutely 0 knowledge on where NFL teams had him rated.
None of us have knowledge of where NFL teams had him rated... We go off of where the analysts rank guys.. Not saying they are always right because they aren't, but from all accounts it seems like we reached..
Nope.. And 99% of the people on here haven't.. I have seen highlights tho... He doesn't possess the natural ability that Gilbert/Dennard/Roby/Verret do. It's not a reach because the Jets took him, but if the Pats took him in the 3rd we would all be cracking up. -_-
He has first round physical ability, and I don't laugh at picks I know nothing about. I didn't know who McDougle was when we picked him but I was able to watch some of his games through the power of the Internet when I had some spare time and he looks like a very good corner, and physically hes up there with any DB in this draft besides maybe Gilbert.
So why was he a third rounder? Don't say because of his injury because Milliner had shoulder problems and durability issues as well coming into the league. Should have been a sure fire 1st rounder if he is up there with Gilbert and company.
Comparing Milliner and McDougle's injury history is about as useful as... well nothing. It's not a good point.
Small school, didn't go up against elite competition, doesn't have a lot of tape available of his senior year because of the shoulder injury. He did a very good job against Clemson though in 2012 and they are loaded offensively.
Over reach? Were you guys cracking up when you took Garopalo in the 2nd....so you can keep him on the bench for three years, while Brady at the end of his career desperately needs more offensive weapons right this instant? LOL
I'm a Jets fan. I was just stating the logic that goes on here... Any pick we make is the greatest pick and other teams picks are shit.. I guess that's true of every fan base.
Haven't there been more than a handful of people that have already said they'd be surprised if he's starting but they think they'll be a good player? I feel like you're being very dramatic over a few comments.
