Jets keep rolling, sign Jace Amaro and Shaq Evans Posted by Josh Alper on May 16, 2014, 8:22 AM EDT AP It’s getting easier to list the Jets draft picks that haven’t signed than running through the ones that have. The Jets have eight of their 12 picks under contract now that they’ve signed tight end Jace Amaro and wide receiver Shaq Evans to a four-year deal. Amaro, the 49th pick of the draft, is the highest Jets draft pick to sign thus far although he may not hold onto that honor for too long given the pace of signings over the last couple of days. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reported that Amaro has agreed to his contract. The Texas Tech product was essentially an oversized wideout for the Red Raiders last season, catching 106 passes and doing very little blocking. He’ll likely play a similar role with the Jets, who have prioritized upgrading their offensive skill positions this offseason. Evans was the second of three wide receivers the Jets selected during the draft, providing a further infusion of talent at a position that had almost none of it during the 2013 season. Evans had 126 catches during his three years at UCLA and caught the Jets’ eyes as a sure-handed receiver that could develop into a reliable target forGeno Smith or Michael Vick. The Jets have signed sixth-rounder Quincy Enunwa, leaving fourth-round pickJalen Saunders as the only receiver in their draft class without a contract.

Amaro does look huge and boy will he get broken in nicely having to block against our D-line .. Having such talented players scrimmaging against each other is a win win situation for Us!!! As soon as practices are open to the public @ Florahm Park I'm there !
