What turmoil at the end of the season?

That wasn't at the end of the season. Did it affect them when they beat the Steelers and Patriots and were 8-6? But now the Incognito situation is why Geno had a decent game? That's flat out stupid.

Yea I don't think that is why Geno had a good game at all, but it did have an effect one way or another.. There was probably a split in the locker room that we knew nothing about. Who knows.. Fuck the Dolphins.

It's not flat out stupid. Miami melted down at the end of the season. The incognito distraction was a major reason why. They buckled under the turmoil.

It's very pessimistic to downplay Geno Smith's end of season improvement by pointing out the competition and I don't necessarily agree with it, but it's not some crazy thought. 3-1 in december with wins against 2 teams that straight up melted down: ( Cleveland and Miami) and one that was terrible (Oakland.) He looked better but the competition is a valid concern. I want to see him have those games against the Baltimores, Pittsburghs and the Cincinnatis of the world

The Incognito situation happened in October they were 3-4. Then they won 3 in a row in November/December once the situation was resolved and was 8-6. My point is that their meltdown at the end of the season had nothing to do with the Incognito situation.

The amazing part is I still can't buy one of these. I've sent feedback to the jets store on numerous occasions, and they have everything you can imagine under the sun but for some reason they can't sell the shirt from the offseason strength training programs.

Has anyone ever seen one of these for sale, anywhere?

I don't know about this. They smacked us around wk 13, beat the Steelers in wk14, then the Pats in wk15. If the Incognito issue was still a factor - they don't beat these 3 teams (cept for us).

Now the Dolphins were simply exposed to end the season. Can't run the ball, couldn't protect their QB. The last 2 teams merely exposed that issue.

The bolded was basically my point. But Big Blocker wants to taint Geno's decent outing by claiming that the Incognito situation was the reason why Geno played well. And they were a bad team because they lost to the Bills the week before.

Don't you think they couldn't run the ball or protect their QB because their offensive line was in shambles due to the Incognito situation? They lost their 2 best offensive linemen because of it... how does a major controversy like not distract a team? Also, it's just a coincidence that that controversy involved their offensive line and people exposed their weak offensive line down the stretch.. just a coincidence?

I believe that they are only given out to players and coaches as part of the strength and conditioning program. It's a shame though.. That's a cool shirt.

They couldn't run the ball even when Incognito was in the lineup. Even before the controversy. 2 out of the first 5 weeks, the Fins failed to gain over 30 yards on the ground.

That's what BB loves to do. It's sad, we as Jet fans dig hard to look for excuses as to why our players suck.

I find it incomprehensible that someone here would think the Incognito situation had no role in Miami's late season swoon.

Obviously a team that could not score a single point against Buffalo was not the same team that defeated the Jets earlier in the season.

As for Miami beating Pittsburgh, heh that's a good one! Pitt got better as the season ended, winning three straight. And Pitt probably would have won against Miami if Brown had not stepped out of bounds on an apparent TD, an unforced error. But Pitt was 5-8 after that game, and ended the season with that mediocre 8-8 record. Hardly an NFL Powerhouse last year.

The win over NE was impressive, but after all these are divisional games. Perhaps more significant was that despite that win, Miami fell out of hte playoffs when Baltimore won on Monday night. That was followed by the deflatin 19-0 loss to Buffalo.

Yeah. It's too bad they can't sell a slightly different color/version to the fans or something. Maybe I'll try to get one made. lol. My favorite one so far was the one from hard knocks training camp:

Look Mr. Homer, I freely concede I am not a Smith fan. So what? He hasn't accomplished much of anything yet, and so no I am not going out and spending money on his jersey. You and other rose colored glasses wearing "fans" want to make it sound like winning against Oakland Cleveland and Miami was some huge accomplishment, and one that is totally to his credit. You even discounted the effect of changes by the CS to the game plan and offensive scheme by denying there was any.

I make no apologies for not seeing it the same way you do. Get over it.

Only took 3 words this time. I'm impressed Blocker. I see you are completely missing the point. No one is saying, Geno has arrived. No one is saying we beat the best in the league. Geno showed better decision-making the last few games. Wherever that be by the CS (which I gave more credit to), or by Geno Smith - the fact still remains Geno Smith must still execute the play given to him.

His decision-making was better the last 4 games.

You shouldn't apologize for what you think, you should apologize for turning that thought into a post.

My favorite "DUH" headline of the pre-pre-season.

They overcame those distractions, they were in position after week 15 needing 1 win over the final 2 weeks against 2 teams not in playoff contention and they scored a TOTAL of 7 pts in those 2 games.

Their OL was pretty good the 2nd half of the year, they had everything going their way after the NE game. They just choked. They don't have a good HC or QB and that doomed them.
