I think that's the better mismatch if you're the defensive coordinator.

I think that's how Rex beat NE in the POs was to flood the field with 5 DBs practically the entire game. Now NE didn't have that big of run threat but it worked that one time for Rex.

So. Based on what I saw last night, I think we are a fair bit aways from the millenium coming.

Last night was definitely the full playbook on display.

Man my sarcasm doesn't go over well at all here. I was mocking the post above me.

Ha, good point. Still, he didn't look blazingly fast to me.

Of course I was watching it via some dodgy russian porn internet feed, it was a little choppy.

The O-Line gave him squat. The 10 yard grab he had on third showed some nice little burst. That was really the only time he had the ball without 3 defenders converging on him.

I agree. Give Chris Johnson space and THEN he can show you his skills.

Feeding him the ball a couple times, coming off an injury, in the first game when he's rusty....you probably won't see much (and we didn't). Ivory is better in the trenches...we knew that...I would wait 2 more weeks before being worried about CJ. The O line also didn't help a whole lot.

The Jets will try to take advantage of his breakaway speed and ability to on a short play take it all the way. Not sure what Chris has left in the tank as a running back. I don't see him getting consistent yardage or moving the chains like maybe Ivory can do. I hope they don't overuse him. But the Jets have more weapons this season and it's up to Marty to figure out how to use them. The short passing game with Kerley and the tight ends and Johnson could be a big deal for the Jets this season and a chains mover.

Last night looked pretty much as I expected. The Jets were playing a vanilla playbook and the defense is usually ahead at this point in the pre-season. I was glad to see both Geno and Vick playing decently despite a somewhat porous pocket. I actually didn't mind Geno's throw to the sidelines when he was cornered in the pocket. The ball was thrown about 12 feet off the ground, which was why neither Bohannon or the defender made a big leap at it. It was clearly a throwaway and in isolation a very good play since it cut the chances of a turnover kind of dramatically.
