As much as I am in the "Idzik messed up" camp, the bolded portion doesn't appear to be true. The word is that Woody didn't want him back due to bad blood between them. So it's not fair to pin that on Idzik if that is true.

This is obviously more of a future building project though. Sign Revis for one year in which we're looking for a playoff berth without a proven quarterback. It's one thing if we were an elite team trying to push over the top but Revis is going to want another contract after a year that we're not going to give him.

It really would just cripple our rollover cap money for next year.

Back to the main question on this thread...

There is a realistic chance the Jets could make a move to shore up Cb between now and opening day. There are risks, such as getting some overthehill camp cut who flunked out purely on their own, or getting caught paying too much for a trade. But there also might be camp cuts who lost out on a numbers game and still can help, or even a possible trade that would work for the Jets.

In the short run, I think the Jets will see how quickly they think Milliner will come back. Perhaps someone like a Lankster can step up. Their weak Cb roster and where we are in the pre-season limits their options. But as of today, I do think the smart move is to see what the current roster can do.

I have more hopes for Lankster than anyone else, at least to step up and press Patterson, who so far looks injury prone and perhaps over the hill.

How did I miss that there was a guy named Tim Fugger on the team. :(

The defensive backfield will be sheilded by the Walls of Darrin

Ellis Island will emerge. We will be fine at CB once Dee is back.

The two big question marks in the defensive backfield injury wise are Milliner and Pryor. These are the guys with the most talent who are expected to be big playmakers this season. Without either of them there will be problems but not insurmountable. Rex again bragging about his defense saying how he'll figure something out. Doesn't the guy ever learn. How's about not being so obvious with your blitz packages on 3rd and long. The entire league and even the fans know what you're going to do. We see the results. Big completions and uncovered receivers.

Maybe AA works out. We'll see saturday. Bengals have some pretty good WR's . Throw im on Marvin Lewis i bet he doesnt score 4 times.

you know every time i see the bengals logo i vomit at the thought of what Marvin fucking Lewis did to us.

But on topic im kinda glad we held on to Landry bc he made need to be our starting SS, throw Calvin over top of AA, and we may be just fine, might be better off than we were before if AA works out at cb. That would be sweet.

BTW i read that AA is starting CB on saturday, since milliner is our will he be our #1? Thats a gut check to our other CBs in line if its true lol. Almost like Cro saying he's the 2nd best WR on the squad

Please be right lol. Is Rex creative enough to use all those WR s we picked up at CB? Good point if Bill B uses that scheme then I guess we don't sweat it those first round of regular season teams that throw.

You said "it's issue of depth". So now you're ok with Idzik re depth, but complain about starters, right? Well, one of our starters got injured...
...alternatively, just in case you decide to reverse back to your previous point: one of our depth CBs, got injured...
So again back to my original comment:
"How dare Idzik didn't foresee an injury to a CB (started or depth -- your choice). What a fucking asshole"

It's not about fitting wide receiver in to our scheme though because if you watched closely the Patriots used those wide receivers to press at the line then sink underneath into the curl zones and rally up to tackle the flats. Then they let Rodney Harrison feast on anything coming over the middle.

BIG "fuggin" deal about this CB "crisis". In other news...players get injured in the National Football League. Step away from the ledge. This is still a good to great football team.

Marvin Lewis is the head coach of the Bengals. I think you're referring to Marvin Jones, the receiver who caught 4 TD's vs us last year. Btw, he's injured and won't play in the game.
