We're never going to win. The closest thing we've ever had to music at the SB was old geezers livin up old glory. Then we all bitched about having nothing modern on the show. Now that we're getting it, of course they would give 3 of the worst options humanly possible. I realize that the stars typically have an entourage of other stars, but they should really have more of a diverse selection than smooth emo pop, mainstream half ass hip hop pop, and straight teenager pop.
Last year show was really good and I never heard of the guy before/ thought it was gonna be gay so sorry but I disagree with your rant
http://www.billboard.com/articles/list/513793/10-best-super-bowl-halftime-shows?page=0,1 Prince was easily the best on the list.
I believe you're the only one here who brought up "greedy". This isn't a greed thing, it's a stupidity thing - you want A-list celebrities at the SB, none of them will ever cut the NFL in on their tour revenue. So you're left with the B's & C's to choose from
Now we are going to argue semantics if that is what you want, but what is "fucked up" about a billion dollar industry like the NFL asking for more money if it isn't a reference to greed? The only thing that it could be referencing is that the NFL is wealthy enough and shouldn't be squeezing pennies from everyone that participates? That would be greed. What else could "fucked up" mean if not that?
This is dumb. It pretty much guarantees we never see any good bands on the halftime show again. The days of Bruce Springsteen or Rolling Stones are over. Do they not take into account the ratings and how many people will simply change the channel at halftime? It seems like this would cost the NFL revenue. I generally don't watch the halftime show regardless, but making artists pay to essentially promote the NFL is ludicrous, and they are asking for a portion of their tour afterwards too? Yuck. Nobody's going to want to pay, especially not established artists that don't need that kind of promotion.
apparently it is, since you are having trouble doing so. follow the entire conversation I was engaged in, not just the parts you decided to chime in, before being snide. where you wanted to take the topic doesn't change where I was at with it when you joined in a specific exchange. to your point of it being stupid, not greedy, which was irrelevant to what I was discussing but we can go in that direction as well. yes, it is stupid. and it is unlikely to actually happen. the NFL can ask for anything they like; but if no desired musicians bite it will simply not take place. that doesn't change the fact that the NFL's position that they are providing a valuable opportunity to the musician isn't valid. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...narrows-list-Rihanna-Katy-Perry-Coldplay.html
They should get Five Finger Death Punch. The band could give Goodell a knuckle sandwich every time he opens his mouth as residuals.
