An attack? Not at all. Its an observation. I dont want to get into a big discussion about this, I've seen your posts, and there is no way it ends well. There are people out there who called Geno a bust before he was even drafted. Saying that any QB in this draft (including Boyd) would have been a better option than Geno. And they are the first to make it known that Geno did poorly and that they never wanted it. I shouldnt have said they would rather watch the team lose. That was vague and not very fair. There is a ton of agenda posting from certain users. Maybe you dont notice it, but I have. I'm not attacking "non homers," just bringing up that there are people who have agendas in mind when they post. But honestly, it really isnt a big deal.
If he is placed on the PS, that would mean that any team could claim him and pick him up, right? I imagine he'd be picked up rather quickly, but I'm not sure on the rules.
Yes and yes. The team has to put him on the active roster for I believe 4 weeks. They can't sign him to their PS. _
The best thing that could happen to Matt Simms is that he gets put on the PS and some other team picks him up. He's wasting his time here.
Oh, I grant you there are plenty of agenda driven posters. I have not kept a scorecard, but some (of course not all) of the skepticism about Smith comes from Sanchez fans. Like I say some. It's somewhat understandable, if not fair. But that's only for posting here. I am not a naive person, but I dont think any true Jet fans, whether homers or darksiders, want to see the team do worse.
yeah, I can see that. hey, maybe the giants can use 'em, play for the old man's team. hes a decent backup, I'm 90% sure that Boyd wouldn't get picked up by anybody since he's so unadjusted to the league and most teams have their young backup prospects in a row. Meanwhile Simms actually has a little bit of value…TRADE'EM! Trade'em for picks, quick! Don't know how or who but, lets get some value from this.
How is a UDFA being treated unfairly? Simms IS a backup and him being in the league is his shot. He got his one chance last year against the Dolphins and he wasn't impressive. True that isn't a big enough sample size to prove anything one way or the other. But when you're a undrafted QB getting a shot in a regular season game. You have to impress the coaches right away. For every Kurt Warner or Tony Romo there are thousands of guys that don't amount to much. Now what team is going to pick him up and give him the shot you think he deserves?
Simms got the nod over Boyd in the third preseason game. So does this mean Ryan still hates Simms? I am trying to understand this.
