You missed the most important stat of all and I guess cause it would have completely crushed your argument but since 1986, what is that 28 years they are 4-1 in the Super Bowl. I could give a shit what they did between the 60-s and 80's as I wasn't born for most of that. It's not like the Jets were setting the world on fire and were winning Super Bowls. I'm not sure what qualifies them as a phony organization but if being a phony organization wins the Jets 4 Super Bowls in the next 28 years maybe we should try it.

they have 2 fluke SBs in the past decade. not much difference btw '07/'11 NYG and '09/'10 NYG other than a call here and there and a bounce here and there. from 1991-2006 they had 3 playoff wins, that's a long time. outside of the 2 SB runs where everything broke perfectly they don't have a playoff win 2001-current. we are not talking the '00s Pats here or the 80s Niners.

Good teams always get lucky. A fluke is once, not twice.

they were both fluky, 9 and 10 win teams winning like that? they played well but they needed a million things to go their way and they did.

One could argue that Rex Ryan has 2 fluky AFCC appearances...

How was that 2010 season and AFCCG run fluky? There were people picking us to go to the SuperBowl before the season.

I hope you still took the point. they were a 6th seed and won it, just like the giants were.

the giants weren't a 6 seed in 2011, they actually hosted a playoff game b./c their division was so weak.

2010 & 2011 we did it with smoke and mirrors, the true weakness of the team is showing now we no leadership
So the Giants were a fluke team (that won the division) who won two superbowls, and the packers as a 6th seed were not a fluke team. Right.

Fluky or not the difference between winning a SB and losing a title game is HUGE. Changes the whole perception of everything.

I agree the Giants were very lucky in both runs but it doesn't matter.

it does change the perception and it should but those teams were very similar.

No Super Bowl championship what-so-ever is a fluke. You can have a couple fluke regular season wins, maybe a playoff game that bounces your way, sure, but you don't win the whole damn thing and be a fluke. Only a jealous fan of a crappy organization would say that about another team that wins the SB.. twice...in five years...both against perhaps the greatest QB to lace them up.

2011 title game Ahmad Bradshaw clearly fumbles, whistle blows it dead or giants lose. 2010 title Mark Sanchez throws forward pass, called fumble and returned for TD
change those plays and fortunes are changed.

It doesn't change the perception because they won. The perception is Eli Manning is an extremely clutch QB with a knack for winning the big game and making the big play at the big moment. If the Giants lose those 2 SB's thats not the perception. The perception would be something along the lines of the Giants not even belonging in either game to begin with. That's not what people say though cause they won. Huge difference.

I repeat how can it be fluky and/or "smoke and mirrors" when we were a SuperBowl favorite in the AFC and cam within a game of realizing that?
