Kind of expected though, Rex went on all week about Geno is the starter no questions... So Vick did not expect to start. -But he should of been ready, like a prime player
Rex actually went on all week about how he wasn't even thinking of pulling Geno in any event in that game. Very tired of this dude that looks like a Mississippi catfish.
Jets need a coach that wont let them get away with things like missing meetings and not being prepared. He obviously has to be a good coach as well, I figured that went without saying. It seems like your disagreeing with me, but I'm not sure.
Going polar opposites is never the way to go. They did it when they fired that fraud Mangini and hired Rex. You're right, they do need a guy that won't let them get away with shit, but they don't need a coach that they hate playing for.
Pretty much sums up how the team has played the last 2 weeks, disappointing to hear this though considering the reason we brought him in was to step in at a moment's notice and be prepared. Very unprofessional on his part especially when you're backing up Geno Smith.
They didn't bring him in to step in. They brought him in to "mentor" the turd we have playing QB. And he's doing a bang up job.
I'll rewrite what I wrote a few days ago: The more we find out about this team, the worse Rex Ryan looks.
Agreed except for the starting. I think he's come to terms that he's a back up and is mapping out how to stay in the league another 4-5 yrs. It was painfully obvious to anyone watching that he's been in cruise control. If people are shocked they aren't paying attention.
I think Rex is burned out already here, time to move on especially if the team continues to come out flat and unprepared again this week. Even if we fire him mid season I'd be ok with it, I still think Rex is a good coach but we need a new voice.
The more I think about this the more disappointing it is. Given everything going on with the team you'd think everyone on the 53 man roster would be busting their balls to get better and make a difference on the field. Instead we've got a guy who plays the most important position in team sports who knows damn well the guy ahead of him is struggling - not even giving a fuck to prepare for the game. Fucking train wreck. Fire Rex now.
unacceptable, especially considering the pressure to put him in. I blame him but I blame the team to, he should have gotten first team reps and should have started the game from the beginning.
It was pretty obvious since the start of the season. Grantland: Best case scenario; Jets a 9 win team Post by: legler82, Sep 2, 2014 in forum: New York Jets
And dump Marty too. Rex has let the inmates run the asylum. We know he has no clue on offense but Marty, who's worked with Vick in the past, should know when the effort isn't there. For him not to pull Vick aside and say something or to tell Rex he's not giving max effort is just as unacceptable as what Vick is doing.
