Oh Barcs. You miss the point. No one is saying it wasnt a good game plan but the fact that had to go mostly nickel and dime situation speaks loudly of how bad the secondary is. If Rex tries that on a team with a good running back, they will put up well more then the 140-150 that Denvers no name rb put up today. You cant sit there and act like they did a better job today then in seattle because manning threw it 16 less times and they were able to run the ball many more times today then in Seattle.
My bad, I meant 2nd quarter, when they scored 2 TDs on Rex's well run machine. They went on to score that other one you mentioned in the 2nd half. I'm not going to speak for what NFL teams have. If the Jets have assigned multiple people in the role of assessing and implementing in game adjustments, they are doing a piss poor job. Please stop. A winning record over five years is not inconsiderable, but not particularly great. Mediocre coaches have achieved this as well - Dave Wannstedt was 42-31 in just under five years at Miami before being fired. Rich ^@&*#ing Kotite was 36-28 in four years at Philadelphia before coming here. Herm was 39-41 before getting the boot here; how different is that really from 43-43? I'm more concerned with the way things are going. After a great first couple of years things just seem to be going downhill. I'm tired of the Jets being a circus. Every week or two it's something and this has been going on for years. The whole Tebow mess - whatever you think of his play, the fact remains that the Jets signed him and then mismanaged him for the entire year. The bust formerly known as Mark Sanchez. This business with Geno and now Vick. Is there even a QB coach on the payroll? I'm tired of searching for the good - "our head coach had a great defensive gameplan today, so we lost by only seven". Big whoop. What about the offensive plan? Last I checked, he was in charge of that too. I'm tired of the "well, he doesn't have good players" or "his QB sucks" or "they didn't invest in his team". He's been here for five years. That's long enough. He owns it now, lock stock and barrel. If he demands excellence from the GM and doesn't get it, he should make his feelings known and leave. Otherwise, it's his problem.
