how much time do you think rex spends trying to develop his qb in a given week? how much time do you think he thinks about developing his qb in a given week?
Oh Barcs. You miss the point. No one is saying it wasnt a good game plan but the fact that had to go mostly nickel and dime situation speaks loudly of how bad the secondary is. If Rex tries that on a team with a good running back, they will put up well more then the 140-150 that Denvers no name rb put up today. You cant sit there and act like they did a better job today then in seattle because manning threw it 16 less times and they were able to run the ball many more times today then in Seattle.
My bad, I meant 2nd quarter, when they scored 2 TDs on Rex's well run machine. They went on to score that other one you mentioned in the 2nd half. I'm not going to speak for what NFL teams have. If the Jets have assigned multiple people in the role of assessing and implementing in game adjustments, they are doing a piss poor job. Every damn 3rd down fuckup and end of game bed shitting shows this to be the case.
now you are putting me to sleep: ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZ Let's agree to disagree. Have a great week. I don't really want to fight about this . We don't agree, that's all.
Fuck if I know dude. He probably thinks about it a lot considering how closely his job is tied to it.
Please stop. A winning record over five years is not inconsiderable, but not particularly great. Mediocre coaches have achieved this as well - Dave Wannstedt was 42-31 in just under five years at Miami before being fired. Rich ^@&*#ing Kotite was 36-28 in four years at Philadelphia before coming here. Herm was 39-41 before getting the boot here; how different is that really from 43-43? I'm more concerned with the way things are going. After a great first couple of years things just seem to be going downhill. I'm tired of the Jets being a circus. Every week or two it's something and this has been going on for years. The whole Tebow mess - whatever you think of his play, the fact remains that the Jets signed him and then mismanaged him for the entire year. The bust formerly known as Mark Sanchez. This business with Geno and now Vick. Is there even a QB coach on the payroll? I'm tired of searching for the good - "our head coach had a great defensive gameplan today, so we lost by only seven". Big whoop. What about the offensive plan? Last I checked, he was in charge of that too. I'm tired of the "well, he doesn't have good players" or "his QB sucks" or "they didn't invest in his team". He's been here for five years. That's long enough. He owns it now, lock stock and barrel. If he demands excellence from the GM and doesn't get it, he should make his feelings known and leave. Otherwise, it's his problem.
I don't believe he spends much time working on it or even thinking about it. maybe he designates some time on the shitter to considering qb development
Is that a joke about Rex being hard for Sanchez? In all seriousness, that seems a little unlikely because his coaching livelihood has so much to do with the play of his QB. It's not like I can read his mind though.
Manning said the Broncos realized the Jets were placing eight men in coverage, so the game plan had to change. "My guess is they didn't think much of our running game coming into the game," said Manning, who was 22-for-33 passing for 237 yards and no interceptions. "When you take your two linebackers and lock them both out on two receivers, they're basically laughing at your running game. And based on what we've been doing, that's probably a valid philosophy. It's tough to throw the ball when you've got eight guys in coverage every single play." The Broncos came into the game 29th in the league in rushing. But Ronnie Hillman, filling in for the injured Montee Ball, ran 24 times for 100 yards. Denver's three offensive touchdowns still came on Manning throws, though. He has 506 touchdown passes and is two away from tying Brett Favre's record. "We're trying to win football games and it's tough," Manning said. "That's all I'm thinking about." Manning's first TD pass of the day was a 1-yard strike to Demaryius Thomas with 5:50 left in the second quarter to give Denver a 10-7 lead. He then hit Julius Thomas with a pair of touchdown passes, a 22-yarder with 27 seconds left in the half and a 4-yarder with 8:08 to play in the third quarter to make it 24-7. That's when Thomas punctuated his feat with the remark heard 'round the Internet world. Despite that, Manning didn't think it was easy at all. "I have a lot of respect for their defense," he said. "They've got good players and they're well-coached."
