It is a damn shame they came out flat in Pittsburgh. I still believe they were the better/hotter team and would have been a bigger challenge for Green Bay. The Sanchez forward pass that was called a fumble was a killer too for sure. They never gave up though and I respect that.
I could watch that clip over and over. For me the best td is watching Braylon Edwards dragging two Patriots defenders into the endzone. It was such a microcosm of the Jets History, persevering to leave all those frustrating seasons in the past and fighting to cross that white line. There have been some epic Jets victories but, this is my favorite, beating the hated Pats in their house, Awesome.
In hindsight I wish I drove up for that game instead of going to Pittsburgh... that night was cold and miserable
And those two defenders were both Pro Bowlers. I think if the Jets can neutralize the Pats for a couple of quarters they can pull it out. The short week works to the poorer teams advantage in my opinion.
Favorite Jets games: Super Bowl 3, Jets vs Pats playoff game '11 and the Midnight miracle. I have SB 3 and MM on vid. still waiting for this game on dvd some day.
It is not a shock the Jets are bad these days. Look at who highlights that video: Sanchez, Tomlinson, Edwards, Holmes, Cotchery, Greene, all gone. None of those players may have been great on their own, but they worked as a unit. Funny how a team can completely change a roster within a couple seasons.
God that game was awesome! Not old enough to have seen our superbowl, but that was the best Jets team I had ever seen. Both those years. I would give my left nut to see that again. This kinda makes me miss Nacho too haha
That throw and catch from Sanchez to Holmes was amazing. Hearing Holmes yell like a maniac after scoring was pretty awesome, gives me chills. His top play as a Jet for sure.
Can you belive we were actually favorites to make it to Superbowl in 2012 coming off our back to back AFC title bullshit by some odds makers, how far we have fallen its disturbing
I wonder if Rex lost two Superbowls instead of two AFC title games if he would be getting a free pass for this season
4 years ago.. some fuzzy math here.. I think I've had about 2,000 drinks since then... been choked or tapped 1,500 times, been thrown 15,000 times... Squatted 4,000,000 pounds... all I remember is Greene's TD run.
You think the sack-fumble was a forward pass? Interesting. I thought it was 50/50, and live, it looked like a fumble.
