Just thinking about the Colts who have Manning followed by Luck. Or the Pack who have Favre followed by Rodgers

Some of our starting QB's during that time
    Bubby Brister
    Quincy Carter
    Brooks Bollinger
    Rick Mirer
    Frank Reich
    Browning Nagle
    Greg McElroy
and of Course our recent 1-2 back to back punch for the ages-The sanchize followed by Geno.

    What a disaster

Man, I'd have been thrilled with Brees passing the baton to Rivers, let alone the four that you mentioned...

Chad Pennington and Mark Sanchez had some success at least. 2 Playoff wins for Chad (at San Diego, vs. Indianapolis), 4 playoff wins for Mark (at Cincinnati, at San Diego, at Indianapolis, at New England) and of course Vinny Testaverde's (12-4) season that included 1 playoff win (vs. Jacksonville).

Not like we're the only team with this problem. The Skins may have made the worst trade in NFL history for RGIII and while the Cousins pick looked smart at the time people are calling for him to benched. The Browns have been 100x worse than us before the first 6 games this year. Id put our QB situation the last 6-7 years in the same class as the Bills, Titans, Texans, Dolphins, Vikings, Bucs, Raiders, ect

Maybe one day we'll get lucky and find the guy who will run this team for 10 plus years. It's not like it's easy though. The Colts got extremely lucky (no pun intended) the Packers made a great decision that was very unpopular at the time.

Nope, Minnesota will always have that distinction in the Herschel Walker trade.

Depends how you describe success. If winning a Super Bowl is the only thing that counts as success, then Joe Namath is the only successful QB in Jets history.

we have never had a truly great QB outside of maybe a great season here which is why we haven't competed for more SBs but we have had some good ones through the years.

Well the regular season is played to win the SB right? That makes EVERY QB we have had since JWN to be a downright loser just like the team itself is since 01/13/69 yes that is not a mistype that is 01/13/69:mad:

I said truly great not great for a short stretch. Joe helped change the game and is in the Hall for more reasons than just play on the field.

Sanchez was hardly a disaster. The team around him turned to shit which didn't help. Geno is an absolute disaster however

Threads like these, I always get a kick out of remembering that Quincy Carter was 2-1 as a starter for the Jets.

    Agreed

But I think the frustration lies within the lack of longevity and consistency.
