We already pay ridiculous amounts to watch them lose at home. I just want an excuse to travel to London. And I know it's not a popular idea, but I like travelling to different stadiums and I think London would be awesome. Let's face it, with the amount of away fans at our home games now, it's not like it'd be much of a difference in homefield advantage for us.
Not a fan of taking away a team's home game for this marketing b.s. With the intricate ways we lose games we should get a London game soon.
I want nothing to do with those London games. Although it would be cool to watch a game that starts at 9:30 in the morning.
I lived outside of London when I was studying abroad in college. Great town and people, LOVE to drink, almost too much lol. The Jets are in NY and most people in London and the UK know of the NY area when talking about the US more than most other areas of the US. I think that's one reason the NFL wants to give smaller market teams a shot at spreading their brand and getting more international exposure. I'd love the Jets to go over, would give me a reason to go back and visit some mates.
I HATE the whole London game thing and am so glad we've not had to join that circus yet. I'm watching the Falcs and Lions now and the field is tearing up all over. The crowd are ridiculous all sitting there in one of the 32 teams colours. The atmosphere is total crap. Marshall faulk said that London could sustain a franchise. No it couldn't, people here love the NFL and love supporting one of the American Cities teams. If London had a team initially it would get support but if it wasn't immediately successful it would collapse just like the Monarchs did in world league. Can you imagine having London in the AFC east?
The travel logistics alone would make it impossible for the NFL to ever expand to London. The owners would never approve their teams having to play on a 5 hour time difference. 3 hour time difference is bad enough. 5 hours is too much for a team to recover from. Not to mention TV ratings will suffer with games starting that early. It would dampen the product. Not happening.
Yea, they've destroyed that field. I'm not saying let's get a permanent team there. Quite the opposite, I think that'd be a terrible idea. But I like the change in scenery. And I'd love an excuse for a vacation.
Just come to England....you don't need the Jets to play here to do that. How are you going to feel if they loose after traveling all that way?
Why would the Jets give up a 75000 sellout? The NFL can't even extort them with the threat of needing to go to London to get a Super Bowl since they just HAD a Super Bowl. Maybe we can go to London the next time we play the Jags.
Agreed man. My buddies and I started a tradition this year where we plan to travel to see an away Jets game every year for the foreseeable future. We started this year by going to Lambeau. Even though the loss was incredibly tough to swallow, it was definitely one of the coolest things I've ever done related to the teams I support. I would love to see the Jets play in London, although admittedly I'd probably be in the minority.
I have begin doing this with my son (13), we have been to Washington, Carolina and next week are we are going to KC.
