It's obvious that Rex is a lame duck, Idzik is 80% gone as well in my opinion. My question is this, should the new regime:
    1) stick with Geno and use the Jets (assumed) very high draft picks to surround him with talent.
    2) Draft another QB and give up on Geno.
    3) Trade for someone that is on another roster at this time.

I've read and heard (NFL network) that many think that RG3 is done in D.C., they think he has a future in the NFL just not with the Skins. He needs a fresh start. I'm sure he can be had at quite a reduced asking price. If i was fixing the Jets, I'd go after RG3, draft some young offensive talent to put around him and use some of that ridiculous amount of cap space to shore up the defensive backfield and add depth to the O.L.

I really don't like RG3 as a player, and he honestly annoys me as a person too

There are plenty of threads like this started by Jets fans, we don't need one started by a Pats troll.

    Merge please.

Do you come upstairs for Thanksgiving or does your Mom bring it down to the basement?

RG3 is a walking injury, much like Milliner. Then there is the question of how he's handled his critics in D.C. by throwing people under the bus. How long is he going to last in NY both physically and mentally? At this point we don't need any more headcases.

It's like you're working from the 1997 playbook of trolling. Every sentence you type.

Do you come upstairs when Brady tells you to stop?

Bonus points for only replying to my post when other people actually responded to you seriously. You don't care about talking football. You only care about trolling here.

There is a troll on this thread but it's not me. Grow up. Sorry I criticized your thread where you boldly predicted that the Jets would either be really good or really bad.

NO Geno, NO RG3! Get this team a real QB or at least a QB who will inspire hope. Suck for the Duck!

I don't think the Jets will have the #1 overall, would you be willing to surrender big ransom (aka multiple high picks) to slide into that spot? I wouldn't.

    Big no to RG3.

Bring in Jim Harbaugh, then draft either Mariotta or Winston.
    OR
Draft Amari Cooper and make a trade for Manziel

Whoever Harbaugh wants, I would let him get, even if it included Winston or Manziel. (It sucks Winston has this drama surrounding him or else this would be a no-brainer, Winston is going to be very very good on the field BUT he might not make it on the field =/)

RG3 is far from the answer.

We need a pocket passer that knows how to read a defense. Not a guy who puts himself at risk for an injury every single time he cant find an open WR.

Cam Newton , who is built like a linebacker , is already feeling the effects of how he plays the QB position. And he's only 1 year older than RG3.

This also applies to anyone that wants Mariota, Winston, Hundley etc.

Draft a qb in round 1. Bring back Vick/vet/Geno to hold the fort while the rookie develops.

If you can get Mariota, you get Mariota. If not, I would go with Bradford and draft Cooper to pair with Decker.

How much more talent can you surround a guy with? There's enough talent on this offense for any decent qb with a decent system to put up 25 a game. The line is underperforming in pass protection and the play calling is a joke. Whoever our next coach is he has to be someone who is an innovator on offense who knows how to get the most from his QB.

I really want Kyle Shanahan as head coach. So I say we hire him, and then get his opinion on RG3, considering he knows him as well as anyone. It's a crazy thought isn't it? Your head coach having input into an offensive personnel decision?

I'd really avoid it unless someone who knows him really well is convinced that Washington was the only thing holding him back. He gets hurt in every game he plays and he makes poor decisions. It's kinda tempting though..

Do you truly think that, or are you saying that simply because you want to see the Jets continue to flounder and be a joke? RG3 is NOT the answer. He can't stay healthy and isn't that good.

I think the new regime will probably be forced to keep Geno on the roster, but should add a veteran FA QB and then seek to draft a QB in the draft. If they can grab Mariota, then they have to. I'd let him sit for a year however. I wouldn't rush him onto the field. The Jets need to fix their OL and add a quality WR prospect, not the stiffs they added this year.

Sticking with Geno or trading for another QB is not the answer.

For Jets fans, the sad thing is that there should have been a new CS in place for this season and the 12 draft picks should have addressed the WR and CB positions in a more significant manner.

To begin with, I think the Jets have an excellent chance to be picking #2. Oakland will probable be picking #1. They don't need a QB and I doubt if anyone would give up what it would take to move up to #1. Thus the Jets should be able to take Mariota at the #2 pick.

If the Jets are drafting 3rd or lower, then I'd at least investigate moving up, but don't think they can afford to give up a king's ransom. They have too many holes. If that happens, the Jets are once again screwed for the forseeable future, and it will be of their own doing. Woody had a chance to fire Rex and to hire a GM with a lot of personnel experience. He refused to do it. The Jets could have taken Teddy Bridgewater in this year's draft. They could have taken Jimmy Garoppalo in this year's draft. They didn't. If they are not in a position to get a franchise QB in this 2015 draft after this year's cluster fuck, then it serves them right.
