Yeah. Keep things civil. I have been taking selfies of my middle finger and sticking them on other Big Time anti- Duck program forums. Several one day accounts. Good day to be from Oregon.

So your logic is a curse and "it was a long time ago". Forgive me if I choose to believe that the fact that good QB's can win the Heisman and a Super Bowl, it is just very, very hard.
There have been 33 Heisman winning QB's and 48 Super Bowl winning QB's, statistically the probability of the winner of one then winning the other has to be pretty damn miniscule. It is not a curse it is just a QB having to pretty much reach the pinnacle of his career, twice. Not at all easy to do in any career. Of course there are Heisman winners who did not do well in the pros but there are enough that did very well.
Winning the Heisman is not indicative or predictive of any assured future success but it does show the presence of a skill set at the top of the position, the question is will it carry over to the pros. I personally would rather take a chance on a Heisman winner that appears may have the skill set to succeed in the pros rather than write him off purely because he won the Heisman.

Hi. I was actually mocking Stokes a little bit but looks like I did a bad job. Sorry :)

Hi 101. I literally didn't watch any college football game from start to finish in my life. I know nothing about it. I found out last week that there were bands playing awful songs last week in the games. That said, I really didn't get your message. :)

I had wanted the Jets to draft Mariota, but since he has now won the Heisman: No thanks. No Heisman winner has had a good NFL career. In fact, winning the award proves he is not a very good football player. Something like that.

    RT

I have seen harsher things being said on this board plenty of times. I think Stokes deserved time off but imo, he shouldn't be the only one. There is really no standard in these bans. That said, see you guys in a month.

Lol - I didn't know my fault. Some collegiate offenses tend to not allow the QB to develop certain pro fundamentals like reading defenses, basic drop backs and going through progressions. Oregon is one of those offenses along with Texas Tech and Hawaii.

A lot of QBs have come from Oregon and have been outright busts from Akili Smith to Joey Harrington. I think Mariota could break the trend, but it's going to take patience.

I really liked his speech last night though, he's a really good kid. Would love to have him on the Jets, but I am not trading up for him.

Akili Smith and Harrington were before they implemented this offense in Eugene, so I'm not sure what they have to do with Mariota.

Theres a lot to like about Mariota, seems to be a high character guy, he makes a lot of plays with his feet and also can elude pressure and extend plays, has a good feel for where the pressure is coming from and his OL was horrible at times. He is accurate which helps keep that interception number really low. As far as the Heisman trophy thats an individual college award and plays no part in evaluating his transition to the pro level.

Going back and watching some of his games I think he has a chance with at least a few games on the bench his first year, he's gonna need a ton of reps under center to get that footwork down, he seems to be smart so I would expect the new verbiage of an NFL playbook wouldn't be too difficult for him to learn. His arm is good but not great and he takes off and runs a lot. The system probably helped his numbers but the talent is definitely there. I'll give a better breakdown in the offseason.

Oregon offense never a pro-style offense w/ those QBs - do some research - here are some basics for you that I knew yrs ago.

    http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/...se-vs-spartans-cutting-edge-defense/15050603/

Bellotti scrapped the pro-offense for this now Oregon offense you see now. Sure there have been different variations but the fundamentals they were all the same. Chip Kelly was the OC during this tenure.
