December 24th, 2011 Christmas eve 2011 was a crossroads for the jets. It was the day when all of Rex Ryans bluster, ego, and over-confidence was to come down and crash. He would never be the same since that day. Leading up to that Giants-Jets game he remarked negatively on Tom Coughlin, claimed New York his, etc. When Victor Cruz ran for a 99 yard touchdown Rex Ryan was finished as head coach of the Jets. Meanwhile the Giants were catapulted into their second superbowl in 4 years. Idzic as gm was one of the most comical gm hires in the history of the NFL. His midseason commnets aside, his general building of this team was an embarrassment and a joke. The woody Johnson decision to turn to a recruitment agency to hire him is even more comical. In some ways woody Johnson is Jerry Jones, but only that less people care. He will again fail in the future. Any real Jets fan should sense one fact, they will not win till hes gone. As for their roster, aside from a slightly above average front 7, they simply are talentless. They still don’t have a qb, which will mean a new invenstement. If they fail on QB they will stink another 3 years. Their wrs are a comical joke and their rbs, while solid, are just getting older. Geno Smith is garbage and will never win a super bowl. Good coaches will stay away because of the joke orf Woody Johnson. Its more of the same for Jets fan. Expect to stink for at least another 3 years.
Yea I don't think our WR core is qoute on qoute "talentless" Decker was a few yards shy of a 1000 yard season I think his number was 74 catches for 962 yards with Geno at qb, so to say the WR core is talentless is idiotic
On every bad team someone will get a few catches. Armon Gilliam once averaged 20 points per game on the nets. Name a team with worse wrs?
I was at that game and I still think that if we won that game the Patriots would have won the Super Bowl in 2011. Giants would be eliminated from the playoffs and the Jets would likely have made the playoffs, but we didn't have the talent that year to beat the Pats in the post-season. Also this thread is kind of terrible. Fun fact: Jerry Jones has won the Super Bowl multiple times.
The WR Core is solid and will only have more talent added to it after free agency and the draft.I can't stand fucking Jet fans who think the roster at the end of December is gonna be the roster for the next decade. We have a long offseason with the draft and free agency to go and we have some good peices in Kerley Amaro and Decker to build around and Harvin to if we keep him.So take this thread print it on a peice of paper and use it to pick up dog shit
No you didn't have the talent to beat lots of teams, including the SB champions who physically beat you to a pulp. Your reply to the thread is terrible. Your boastful garabage coach is gone. Thank god. "Pride Cometh before the fall."
Me either I never understood what Idziks thinking was about locking up Kerley,But he's still a good 4th or 5th option ,Top 3 on the depth chart?I don't know he doesn't get a lot of seperation. We should have signed Golden Tate last year to replace Kerley,he's made a huge impact for the Lions
The Jets secondary is bottom 5 in the league by any objective evaluation. To say that it is semi-solid is simply to be a homer. Yes, the roster will change and that's fine. But roster change is generaly a postiiv/negative type thing. Meaning some things will change for the better and others for the worse. Considering the gm is in flux and coaching staff, there is nothing to be optimistic about. The jets have a good front 7 on d. The rest of the team is simply a bottom 5 football team, hence their record. (They even only beat the titants cause qb got hurt.) Percy harvin blows. Decker is a good 3. There is nothing there and the percy harvin trade was made by a gm who just got fired!!! bahahaha
Nevermind that Cruz play. The season already ended (and seemingly the franchise started on this downward spiral) 5 weeks earlier in Denver when Eric Smith wiffed on Tim Tebow and we lost that game to the Broncos. Took the wind completely out of the sails IMO. We went on to win a few games after that but I honestly think that shitty Thursday night in Denver sealed the fate of this franchise.
I assume you're a Giants fan? If so you might want to go ahead and look at your own team before posting on Jets boards about how bad our team is. Either way, we'll see you when we play next season. Have fun watching OBJ highlights all summer.
Who ever mentioned the secondary? And thats false the Jets secondary is middle of the pack not bottom 5 they are ranked 14th overall
Hoooooly shit, that was fucking amazing in the worst way possible. As a musician and a white person, I'm appalled steve stone
Geno has missed Harvin at least 3 times on open deep balls that would have gone for TDs. Same with Decker. You can't honestly tell me that those guys aren't getting open. If Decker wasn't getting open, he doesn't catch over 70 balls for almost 1000 yards. In fact, considering how mediocre/bad the QB is, I'd say all signs point to Decker being open a lot.
