Thought this guy was going to thrive in the Pats system?

    Guess not

I'd prefer him over our current backups. But I can say that about a lot of other players too.

Depends on what the CS thinks of Sudfeld. In Gailey's years with Buffalo, the team used 2 tight end sets less often than any team in the NFL, so I can't see more than 3 tight ends making the roster. I think he'd be a solid pickup but his ability to block decides whether or not it happens, we already have 2 receiving tight ends who can't block anybody. Wouldn't be surprised if we ditched Cumberland though he's developing a decent connection with Geno.

No reason not to bring wright in to compete w the back end of the depth chart and see where things land

Don't blame him for a horribly underthrown pass. Please.

I think he did do well for the pats in the red zone. And think they severely underutilized him (altho winning a SB who cares).

Yeah but some people (Jet fans) were thinking he was gonna be a Hernandez replacement. For what he was asked to do he did well.

I was one of those people. Just turned out the Pats had different offensive plans.

Four reasons the Pats released him. Gronk, Chandler, Hooman, Davis

I think he did pretty well. They just upgraded to TE's who can catch passes AND block.

The Chandler signing was a good one but ya never know with Gronk's health.

I'm guessing his release is due to something behind the scenes.

Sudfeld supposedly hurt his knee pretty bad in the no contact drills when Pryor hit him, I'm thinking we'll probably grab the kid if it's a bad injury.

The Jets put in a waiver claim for Tim Wright but the Bucs have top priority (same thing that happened for Swearinger). IMO the league goes too far in rewarding the top pick; it should work like fantasy football where once you use your waiver priority you get put at the back of the line. One team shouldn't get top priority for every single claim just because they had a bad record. For one claim? Fine. Every single time for the entire season? Come on.

Teams should go to the back after making a claim but that's just the way it is. It's not all season though. After week 3 it changes each week to reflect the current standings.

For the record, the Jets DID put in a claim for Tim Wright. Just wanted to throw that out there for all the "ugh another sign this player thread" people. This was in fact Jets news and the Jets did in fact enter a claim.

I agree...They shouldn't be able to sit there and make claim after claim.

He would've been a good TC body, I know the kid personally, lived right around the corner from my parents house.
