Receiver wide open at the pylon…..Tebow literally bounces a one-hop throw into the turf from a mere 25 yards away. He's a 3-headed Chuck Knoblauch/Steve Sax/Mackey Sasser monster in pads. And praise the Lord he's wearing Eagles green.
Of course there was that 20 yard run by him that basically knocked us out of possibly making the playoffs in 2011. After a fast 80 yard drive. Before that he was horrendous but when it counted he won the game for them. Would have liked to have seen him get a shot for us in 2012 but that's ancient history now and many of the principals from then are gone.
And because their RB (Michael Bush I think) made a rookie mistake with a lead late in regulation and didn't run out of bounds when the Bears could have *easily* ran enough time off the clock for the Broncos not to be able to come back. The Broncos had so many things go right for them that season I seriously thought Tebow had a real religious pipeline. The Steeler game technically it wasn't a bomb, it was a slant play that Thomas took to the house. If Tebow was such a great QB he'd still be with the Broncos, but they wanted NOTHING to do with him even after 'singlehandedly' taking the Broncos out of a top five pick.
He beat our defense to win a game in Denver. That's all he needed IMO to get a chance to start over the Big Apple Turnover.
So in your book one game 4 years ago against a fired coach playing and a team that played on 3 days rest is all that matters. Yeah, that makes sense
If God was on Tebow's side in 2011 then I'd want him on our side in 2012. The way Mark was playing why not give Tim a chance. Rex had nothing to lose.
That's not true. If he had been at the position he was at at the end of the 2011 season (NFL starting QB) in 2012, 2013, 2014 and couldn't repeat his success then yeah you could say that. He was robbed of that opportunity so you can't. I think if he starts again in 2015 he gets his team into the postseason. Tebow > Buttfumbles, Bradford, Barkley.
Who cares? Tebow didn't make the schedule. The Jets won the AFC East in 2002 witha 9-7 record are we giving it back? He!! no!!!!!
I'm not arguing about who made the schedule. I'm arguing about putting Tebow up on a pedestal because he beat a bunch of teams that were on 5 game losing streaks or playing terrible QB's or having a good one have a bad off day on the other side of the field. Just look at that list again and realize that Tebow actually beat one team all year long. The rest of them beat themselves, frequently after Tebow let them get into OT by scoring next to nothing against bad defenses.
All he's ever done is win. He may not play the position the way some NFL people want it played but there's nothing "flukey" about the results he gets. ALL HE DOES IS WIN!!!!!
Tebow would've owned the town. He would've been Namathesque in his star power here. The crazy thing is if Rex had given Tebow a shot he'd still be here I think. For all the talk about Tebow's completion percentage he takes care of the football doesn't turn it over much and he's awesome in the clutch The Jets would've won with him no doubt in my mind about it.
