Rex's inability to generate confidence on the offensive side of the ball will always be his downfall.

Rex is cut from the same cloth as his dad, the move to Buffalo most likely will mirror Buddy's move to Arizona. I don't believe that Rex, like Buddy, will all of a sudden have an epiphany that he needs to have an equal involvement on the other side of the ball. Time will tell, but I believe the time to move on from Rex was the day Idzik was hired. It was a doomed arrangement from day one...

And the good news is we found out that Idzik was a clown operating the control deck of a 747 as well and we were able to send him packing too.

Thanks to the Colts benching Peyton in 2009 and 3 fortunate last second wins in 2010...Rex was very close to never being in the playoffs.....and the Giants beat down in 2011 exposed exactly who he is

I loved Rex. I didn't want him gone and thought he was really dealt a bad hand by Woody. But Jesus, I could not be happier right now.

The coaching staff we have now and upper management just feels light years ahead of what we had. The season hasn't even started yet and I already feel like we are way ahead.

sprinted in? really? rookie HC. rookie QB. AFCCG (x2). sprinted in my ass. It was the fist time in nfl history a rookie hc/qb combo won 4 playoff games. it's ok if you don't like rex, but don't make shit up

It doesn't matter if Rex will become the best coach at every place from now to eternity. Rex wasn't working out HERE, that's all that matter.

The shitty roster was on Idzik, but the shitty effort was on Rex.

Why wouldn't Rex talk to Woody if he didn't like what was going on. And he thought it was hurting the team's chances of winning. I think spoke a lot to Woody. This story even via his mother to me is BS. And typical of RR.

Why are fans still obsessed with Rex and Idzik?

It was the blind leading the blind with the last administration and I'm thrilled to be rid of both idiots.

I liked Rex as well...but he made his own bed.

The new coaches are so much more professional in their approach it's like night & day.

of course it's BS to you. you are still slurping away at Idzik!

it's pretty obvious to anyone the season was completely submarined by poor roster construction and drafting.
that doesn't completely absolve the coaching staff, but it was a horrible situation.

Woody deserves a lot of blame too for letting it happen. you have to get your guys on the same page, and each fully accountable for what they can control. no one has a multi-year grace period in today's NFL.
and there's no reason a coaching staff and FO cannot be assessed separately, hired/fired separately, or have strategic improvements made as needed.
I'd like Woody to continue meeting with Wolf and Casserly annually to discuss performance and strategy, as well as climate of the organization to prevent matters like this in the future, and to make football changes in a more intelligent fashion.

Agree completely. That's why I said what I said. I loved Rex and he was a great motivational coach but we needed a change and needed some responsibility and leadership that Rex just didn't have. I like where this organization is finally going

I don't think it was anything on Idzik's part other than having a longer term plan. He did try to sign better cornerbacks but the elite ones he wanted signed with other teams. Not everyone wanted to play for Rex. If Idzik was here like Mac he would have had to spend more money. And the new GM isn't exactly cutting Geno Smith. He drafted one Qb in the 4th round not in the 1st round.

he didn't try to sign better CB's.. or at least i wouldn't call that trying.
he couldn't offer Vontae Davis more than 9M per? He couldn't offer Revis 12M (or at least call him)? he thought Patterson was an acceptable answer instead? this is on a team where the defense would have to be heavily leaned on, and the CB position is key to making that defense click.
He also downgraded RT, the Vick signing was a joke, and the draft strategies were dreadful.
you don't get the opportunity to lose several years in a row, with the promise of some long term plan, when you make head scratching moves like that all along the way. the present matters.

i love the job Mac has done so far.
but ultimately the quality of his drafting, and most importantly, how he addresses the QB position will dictate how much time Mac will have here.
that much i'll agree with you on.

If he was a good drafter it would have been fine but his drafts sucked.
