Maybe this thread should be about how God can help you end nicotine addiction

Most of that stuff will be gone after 3 or 4 years.

The worst part for me was not the smoking in my dreams it was the smoking in bed in my dreams. Talk about a double American Werewolf in London whammy.

Wow, here's one: Bowles said that no matter what Petty does for the rest of the preseason, there's no way he can even win the BACKUP job. They're really committed to developing him. Love it.

The kid could make major strides if he can keep his head in the books and continue to develop. It could truly expedite the developmental process.

Can't remember the last time the Jets did this.

I truly believe he will. I think he is going to develop into a franchise QB and the Jets are about to enter a glorious era of winning football championships that will make all of our suffering over the last 10-40 years worth it.

I want to believe he's the guy, and Mac / Bowles must too because they traded up for him in the middle of the draft. So far he's proven to me in only 2 preseason games that he can improve on a weekly basis. The fundamentals, the ones I always bitch about are there to see, now Petty has to do work and do more than just scratch the surface.

We have to solidify the offensive line. I really hope you are right man.

It really is unbelievable the Idzik didn't take a flyer on Mettenberger who went in the 6th round. I know he has bad knees but still.

Well, they did go with Boyd. Heh!

The Boyd pick was on Ryan, of course, but it was on Idzik, too. One of the more bizarre moves in recent memory.

Boyd was actually in the Steelers camp until a few weeks ago. They signed him to a futures contract at the end of last year.

I actually think the better he does in the preseason the more likely it is and the harder they'll try to keep him OFF the field this year just to make sure they really protect him. It says a lot about what they think of him as our future franchise QB candidate, starting next year.

i can understand protecting him, but they also need to protect other guys by keeping them on the 53..
if we carry 4 QB's, someone good is getting cut and may not make it to the PS.

i'm not down with that. roll the dice with Petty as the backup until Geno is back. it's football, you can only kid glove guys so much.
