What's sad is that I wanted the Jets to sign Dennis Pitta in FA, or failing him Scott Chandler. While neither is a world beater, they would have been sure fire starters on this team ahead of the likes of Cumberland and Amaro.

I would have loved Chandler. Pitta is still hurt, I read he's starting season on PUP list.

TE was hardly a position of strength before but it's a pretty glaring weakness now. Odds are we'll pick up someone who gets cut elsewhere, hopefully not a complete dumpster fire of a TE.

Looks like we will carry all 8 of our wr's now and have Enunwa take Amaros spot on the roster. Kid has potential, lets see how it plays out

How crucial is tight end play in Gailey's playbook?

I'm too busy or lazy to goggle it.

They are still going to run the ball and probably a lot, it's crucial.

Chandler always used to kill the freaking Jets. Hated that guy because he always found the EZ when the Bills played the Jets.

We've been playing without a real TE for a few years now. We should be used to this.

Disappointing news for me. I had high hopes for him. I was a fan of his, even received his signed rookie card as a gift. Hopefully he can come back next year but his future doesn't look promising with a hit like this at this early point in his NFL career. We should make a move for an above average TE who can help block and be a security blanket for our QB, but I know thats rare in today's NFL so I don't expect it to happen.

That sucks. Thought he was going to have a decent year.

People may have hoped Amaro was going to have a decent year, but I wasn't counting on it.

Hopefully they can pick up a TE camp cut whose a decent blocker.

Good news for Amaro is he will reduce his drops this year.
