But Pink! Sometimes I barely notice it but watch the Cincy V KC game and the whole Orange, Red, Splash of Pink mix had me quite ill.
I'm not following your logic on the defense not getting off the field. Eventually, field position would dictate the situation, but I guarantee that defenders would trade 15 yards and a first down to prevent a TD every time. It would severely diminish the long pass as a weapon in the NFL. And that is not the way the NFL wants to go
They don't let the DB's play. They treat the QB as if they're made of glass. *This is an era of overly inflated QB stats because who the hell wants to play defense anymore if they keep handicapping the offense with ridiculous rules.
Clay Matthews reminded me of how I don't like when players mock others celebrations And I know the yellow first down line is just a guideline but it seems like when the offense is even close to it it is a first down
The D can't get off the field if they continuously commit penalties. I'm certainly no expert on coaching football, but if I saw a team intentionally fouling on every deep pass, I would start throwing deep passes on every 3rd down. My opinion is that the D would rather make a legitimate play and get off the field on 3rd rather than give them 15-20 free yards and a first down. That could be the difference between putting them in FG range as well, which will start costing teams points if they use this strategy. Don't get me wrong, you make a very good point, I just don't think it would affect teams to that extent where they commit a penalty on every deep ball instead of going for the legitimate play. I think they could experiment with the rule, and if it causes that, then change it back. I just see 40+ free yards over a tickytack foul that might not have even affected the play as bad for the sport.
I HATE the pink thing. its nothing more than a fucking ploy by the nfl to get females more interested in the game (don't think they don't realize the male market is just about at its saturation point) and its a ploy to sell extra stuff. forget about the fact that I bet you that virtually none of the money people spend on pink shit actually gets to its intended destination. i don't think there is a rule that sports authority has to give money for pink socks. defense not allowed to actually defend. fuck all forms of fantasy football. hate it, hate everything about it. as a football guy it attracts too many douchebags to the game.
Gloves. Not the kind the D wears for protection but those in the secondary and WR positions. They banned substances like stickum (unless you're HOFer Jerry Rice ) but allow gloves so sticky that you get ridiculous catches (that get repeated to death) happening because the WR manages to get one hand on the ball. May as well let them use stickum, catcher mitts and PEDs.
The Networks deciding who we want to see, who we NEED to see, every cutaway shot whether they are on the field or not. For years every time there was a game involving Warren Sapp, the camera invariably cut to him on stoppages of plays because, well because we ALL needed to see his reaction to the previous play. Was he happy, mad, screaming, taunting? He got shoved down our throat until we loved that douche so much they put him in the broadcasts. Until he turned out the be a scumbag loser. How many times are we going to have to see ODBJr on the sideline with his stupid hair and his stupid face? I fear we're going to get that guy shoved down our throats for years. Like a 1-800 Kars For Kids commercial. The last 10 minutes of the Giant game was ridiculous how many times they cut to him. _
The worst was Kurt Warner's wife and her spiked hair. I developed a deep hatred for her. (I may have issues)
stop the whining about the pink. Maybe if your Mom, wife, or daughter has breast cancer you would feel differently. If it draws attention to the cause, so be it.
Commercials between the field goal and kickoffs . Hate that crap and it literally makes 5 minutes of the game unwatchable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
+1. It's not about the charity, it's about awareness. The easiest thing you can do to combat the disease is early detection. If seeing the pink gets women to go and get a mamo before it's too late, it's done its job. _
too many PI's, need to go to 15 yard penalties instead of spot fouls. And too many damn commercials. I'd love to see them go commercial free during the quarters.
I agree completely, although I would expand it to cancer awareness as a whole rather than just breast cancer. A lot of folks aren't generally aware of what to look for in prostate or pancreatic cancer. I feel they deserve more attention than they generally get.
