So according to this site we are tied for the 2nd lowest penalty count. Coples and Marshall lead with 4 each. The most by an offensive lineman is 2, Breno Giacomini and Brian Winters are tied, both with 2. I think this says good things about Bowles since we used to be one of the most penalized teams under Rex. Buffalo actually leads the NFL in penalties with 72. And hey, our very own Willie Colon has none! http://www.nflpenalties.com/team/new-york-jets?year=2015&view=players
If you had told me that Willie Colon would have zero penalties at this point during the offseason I would have told you to stop smoking crack.
The fact that we've kept our composure so damn well overall is not only a testament to TB, but it suggests it was more nurture than nature that kept getting us into trouble under the previous regime. the evidence is overwhelming at this point, whatever culture Ryan instills is one that breeds sloppiness. This change has allowed us to keep the great defensive mind WITH discipline. So yeah, Bowles > Rex.
Well, I'm pretty sure there are some "Fans" around that would prefer us being as disciplined as say, the Buffalo Bills are. To me? This is fabulous news. Says the players bought into the Bowles philosophy. To others? They'll find a reason to be miserable anyway.
you know... we're the best in the league at a lot of shit this year... we just better go 12 and god damn 4.
It's just a shame that he can't beat Belichick. Hopefully that will change in the Meadowlands later this year.
He's coached against Belichick once as a Jets HC. I'd understand if you made this comment 3 or 4 years down the road, but not now. Cmon.
Three false starts by Marshall? I'll never understand why somebody that far from the QB can have one false start, let alone multiple. Just look at when the ball is snapped, you're not supposed to listen to the snap count.
It is like I have said before. TB is a different breed of coach that we have not seen in a long time. We will be a very competitive team as long as he is our head coach.
Rex brought fire and brimstone and it showed with the penalties. Bowles brings Sister Teresa and it shows with the non-penalties.
I understand where youre coming from i never understood that either. But i'm sure Marshall needs thats first step over his man at this point in his career. Only thing is he should be paying attention to the snap count in the huddle.
