I suppose that is a matter of opinion. I have seen enough of number 7 to know that he shouldnt factor into the future of this squad. At least in my opinion.
The facts are pretty striking. The coaching staff has no confidence in Geno and that is why they choose Fitz less than 10 days after surgery over a healthy Geno. As Brad pointed out, after that running TD Fitz was clearly out on his feet. How he got through the concussion protocol is beyond me but I can tell you that the fact the CS wanted a clearly concussed Fitz out there over Geno is yet another damning indictment of Geno. The coaches in the box get the same TV replays as we do so it isn't like the CS didn't know what happened.
Dude, stop using names, didn't you read the rules? The coaching staff preferred the concussed QB coming off of surgery playing mediocre football over the fully healthy backup QB. Let's discuss THAT hypothetically. I can't wait for the ____bots to follow the ____bots out of town. _
Well if that's the case our coaching staff should be fired immediately....for sending out an injured player and for thinking he would do well Two picks in back to back drives with the game still there to be had....smart decision coach! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Now is the perfect time to make a QB change. Only I'd go with Petty and see if this kid has any chance to be our QB next season. Highly doubtful but we aren't going anywhere with Fitzpatrick and I'm nearly certain Geno isn't the answer. Give Petty last 6 games to see if he has learned anything from sitting and watching. If he hasn't Mac better move heaven and hell to get our QB because until we do find our QB this team is pathetically hopeless. All I know is I cannot watch another game with the gunslinger with a weak arm. The dude has a Harvard education but is as dumb as Geno on the field.
And if this whole premise that the coaching staff and team has zero faith in Geno is true, then why is he even on the team? Yeah that's smart, keep sending out a broken journeyman who may be concussed because we don't trust the other guy that much....what a joke Lots of inconsistencies here Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm not a "X_ guy" at all as most of you know however, once this team is eliminated from playoff contention (next two weeks maybe?), then it becomes time to evaluate and plan for 2016/17. What that means is, we have to find out THIS YEAR if we have the QBOTF on the roster or not. Yeah, as much as it pains me to say this, once we're out of contention its time to give Fitz a rest and start X_guy. Petty should see one game (perhaps game 13-Titans) or just pull mop-up duty in a no pressure situation. IF X_guy plays well, he stays around for year 4. If not, he walks the plank and we move on. Not very complicated. If no other question surrounding this team gets answered this season, THIS is the most important one going forward. This thing has been hanging over our heads now for DECADES and it has to end before 2017. It's gonna take several drafts to get things right personnel wise so it would be prudent not to read too much into fast starts by this team in the future since as we all know, its not how you start, but how you finish that counts. I wouldnt be totally objected to seeing BP. Actually Id be jacked. But the rookie hc would never make such an unconventional move. Yet, a change is rather conventional.....as the op was meant to illustrate......and that only leave one option....unfortunately. Unless there is another somebody could bring to my attention. So, those are our only two options. Sent from my SM-G386T1 using Tapatalk
Just playing devil's advocate here: what's the point of giving Geno mop up duty under a no pressure situation at the end of the year again? We know what he can do with that. It isn't germane to how he leads the Jets when something is at stake. I don't want to put him out there in a garbage time game again and watch him have a big game. That sets the franchise back (again) going into next season. If Geno had the team's confidence he'd have been back on the field by now on his own merits. As it stands they don't believe in him and putting him back out there again in garbage time doesn't do much to change that.
No no... I meant give Petty mop up duty. Let Geno either play his way back on the team OR play his way off of it.
I would love if Petty were ready but I like giving rookie QBs atleast a full year to learn...Ironically Geno should have been put in the same situation. It's the smart way to go with young qbs coming out of "college" offenses The only other option is Geno...If our coaching staff still goes on with Fitz I have some serious questions as to why they didn't send Geno packing to pick up a different qb It's one or the other...You can't have zero faith in Geno but still hold onto him as your backup....it's asinine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bowles is stubborn he also refuses to bench Cromartie in favor of Williams, and he refuses to start Mauldin over Pace.
I've tired of the QB discussions and no longer have the time to waste my energy on trying to figure out who should hypothetically be our starting QB. The fact is, we don't know jack aside from what we watch on Sundays and glean from the media. The coaches are the ones who will make the decision on who plays QB. They are the ones watching practice, overseeing the meetings, and analyzing film. They know who gives us the best chance to win, and they know who is and is not ready to play. They also have their jobs riding on their decisions, so I'm going to leave it to them. Once you realize that you have no control over it, it really does liberate you from stressing about it. This is no reason to have a stroke.
Why even talk about any roster moves then? If they know everything who are we to question them....face it, coaches make wrong decisions all the time. A lot of it is many of them are conservative by nature because of the short life span of coaches Mike Pettine for example would not start Manziel until the owner made him last week when it was clear to everyone that the Browns need to see what they got.....The reason Pettine wanted to stick with McCown was because every win to him counts as he is on the hot seat Basically not every decision made is in the best interest of the franchise....Guys like Belichick can make any decisions they want because of their job security.... The majority of NFL coaches are "playing not to lose" in the grand scheme of things and we all know what usually happens Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
