Surprised this isn't being talked about much. Jets set a franchise record today holding the Dolphins to 12 rushing yards. Yes, 12. Awesome job today!
Just 12? Haha, now I know why I didn't feel overly impressed by the win - I'm a Lamar Miller owner in my Fantasy money-league ; ) Of course a big part of that was Miami behind significantly behind for most of the game, but a record is a record. Can't wait for this Sunday. Happy that the NFL never tried to schedule a Jets/Giants game every year. The fact that it's once every five is perfect. This is an event. In MLB I wish the Mets/ Yankees faced each other LESS often. Hope next week we allow more rushing yards and less passing yards.
Miami came out throwing. It had nothing to do with their being significantly behind. They knew they couldn't run between the tackles on the Jets and had said prior to the game that they were going to try to make perimeter runs. The announcers talked about this several times.
Yeah that record is insane. I can't believe only 12 yards. The phins really are in shambles this year. BTW: The Jets play the Giants once every 4 years, not 5. They rotate and face a different NFC division each year. This year it's NFC East.
Had Bowles not lost the locker room it would have only been 6 yards. If he wasn't such a shitty coach it would have been -18.
If he talked some shit before the game, we'd have had like 20 points at the end of the opening kickoff. Whoops, I'm sorry, I meant if he had "provided some fire".
I have Lamar Miller on my fantasy team (I would have been happy if the Jets held him to 0 yards), but for some reason the Dolphins hate the guy. He is their biggest weapon on offense and now 2 coaches were fired partially for getting no running game going. I even handcuffed him with Ajayi as I could easily see him being the starter in a week or two.
They only rushed for 59 against the Jets in the first meeting. So in 2 games the Dolphins rushed for 71 yards total. and that's even a little skewed because the Fish got a 15 yard end around run in that game from Landry. Eliminate that gadget play and the Jets held them to 56 in two games. 12 yards total in a game is impressive but I was more impressed with the 0 first downs rushing and the 5 yards as being their best rushing play. Also impressive that they haven't given up a rushing TD since the NE game 6 weeks ago and only 2 all year.. both 1 yard dives
